Parting Ways

Random Philosophy Bit #11

If you find that 90 percent of your daily thoughts are some variation of "I'm too good to acknowledge this person", "I'm too good to do that", or "why should I waste my time learning about that", you probably shouldn't be surprised when you find yourself at an impasse.

This sums up the very reason I began blogging in the first place. Most people read and/or listen to ideas, not with an open mind, but with the purpose of defending their beliefs and ideologies.  They tend to have a counter-argument cocked, loaded, and ready to pull the trigger on as soon as they finish giving their semi-attention to the topic at hand (See:  "Why I'm Not A Democrat...or Republican" and "Ideology--Something On My Mind").

She says since I don't want my license, I don't want to work.

That nothing I do here matters because she pays the bills.

And lastly, (and this is my favorite), that IF I HAD MY LICENSE, THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED.

How does that even make sense? I'm sorry I'm afraid to drive and that I don't like it, but that doesn't mean I don't want to work.

Points I tried to make:

Housework is still work, and I can't do it all myself.

I understand that she pays the bills, but that doesn't mean that she can slack on  at least helping me a little bit.

That it's my fucking health insurance, why the fuck would you take that out? Did you not think of other ways to budget your money?

I swear, I'm not gonna want a relationship with her when I leave.

Closed-mindedness is a sensory disorder. It is when we no longer sense and experience the world, which is ultimately that which changes how we see the world, as opinions reflect experience or particular experience (perspective). Since the world is ever changing, the only way to know it is the forget how we think it is, and experience it as it really is, moment to moment.
