Happy Birthday || Sally and Copper
She had worked everything out down to the last pillow on her couch. This was the first time they had properly seen each other since The Kiss. Sally smiled to herself as she thought about it again. The way he kissed her like she was made of porcelain. How there seemed to be that electricity between them even after all this time. She took a sharp breath in, trying to pull herself back to the present moment. She wanted this to go well.
Sally had made a bag for Copper. It was leather and embroidered with a globe on it, something for him to keep his notes about his adventures in, or even the adventures he had planned. She had spent about as much time on that bag as she had on her underwear she was currently wearing, not that you would notice under her large sweater over her dress. She didn’t know what to expect from this dinner - but the part of her that was daring and bold took charge of the lingerie element of her outfit.
She adjusted her bra before pulling at her dress with nerves. She had tried to make lasagna, a deviation from her usual soup or take-out routine. She looked around her apartment again with a critical eye. Everything to her looked messy, but it would have to do. Her breath caught as the doorbell rung and the butterflies that seemed to take up permanent residence in her stomach suddenly came back to life. She rushed to the door before opening it to meet Copper with a beaming smile “Hey” she sounded almost out of breath “Happy Birthday!”
