I’ve read this series 1-2 years ago and at that time I didn’t like it as much as I do now, probably because i skimmed through the series to finish it the first time. I went on a 3-days trip to the country side, so I brought along my handy-dandy kindle and downloaded this book series to get a refresher on it.
So here’s a little summary from goodreads
A dark and edgy romance that will appeal to fans of erotic and turbulent relationships . . . In the near future, the Krinar rule the Earth. An advanced race from another galaxy, they are still a mystery to us – and we are completely at their mercy. Shy and innocent, Mia Stalis is a college student in New York City who has led a very normal life. Like most people, she’s never had any interactions with the invaders – until one fateful day in the park changes everything. Having caught Korum’s eye, she must now contend with a powerful, dangerously seductive Krinar who wants to possess her and will stop at nothing to make her his own. How far would you go to regain your freedom? How much would you sacrifice to help your people? What choice will you make when you begin to fall for your enemy?
I’m actually a big fan of science fiction and although the series does justice to sci-fi genre, it doesn’t actually lean on it as much as I thought, it definitely is more intoo drama, romance and sex... lots of sex, almost every chapter of the whole effing series. It is not that I’m young or whatever (I’m 24, so yeah pretty adult here.) I just deemed it completely unnecessarily, like yeah I get it they like to have sex alot, so no need to actually put into details every little thing from start to finish cause damn it occupies 2-3 whole pages, Anyway, getting back to the story itself, it is actually pretty good. There are some aspect that I was surprised with especially the “villain” of the series. I didn’t see that coming. There are also aspects of the story that wasn’t elaborated more or that it was supposed to be in my opinion, one of the focal points but it didn’t pull through. Both main character does not have any development and most of the time I’m just effing irritated and annoyed at them. Final thoughts? I did reread this series, I might reread it 2-3 years later.
Rating: ★★★
