I've been waiting a whole month for the sequel to release, but it took me a few days to actually take a moment and read the book. I was too busy devouring 11 volumes of another seriesf that has gone to my fave list. Anyway, i like this book as much as the book one. It was hilarious and just extra steamy that I can't even chose who I want my bias to be. We have Aros=Seduction, Coen=Pain, Serit=Trickery, Rome=Strength, Yael=Persuasion,... ugh can't choose. I want them all. Which is why I really want to applaud the authors for that.  They have written all the characters really well... except Willa. Ugh, she was the only thing I dislike about this book. I like her in the first book, she had so much spunk, you can't not like her. However, in this book, I just find her alittle annoying, I don't know, her stupidity just seems too much for me, plus her lack of common sense is incomprehensible to the point of me pinching my nose in irritation. Anyways, the plot for me kinda became confusing in one or more parts and there is soooo much fillers in the book. There also parts where it was lacking in substance. When they revealed the big secret, I already predicted that back in book one,  but it was lacking back story which I hope the authors would elaborate on the next book.

I don't even know where to begin or how to truly start my review. To be honest, as much as I am a book-lover, I also enjoy other form of entertianment such as japanese anime and 'manga'. I always have a whole level of respect to these authors because of their high level of epic-fantasy stories that just makes you wanna dream or wish to even step foot in the world they created. What I also love about it because you can visualize alot easier and somehow I really appreciate that kind of aspect.

Moving On....

I wanted to review as well as introduce and recommend, one of my current faves. "OVERLORD" by Maruyama Kugane. Yes, he is a japanese light novel author and yes, the book is actuallt written in japanese, but No, i don't speak japanese at all. I guess common phrases, but only when spoken. Anyway, before I delved on the matter of the light novels instead, I wanted to share how I came about this story. Since I've stated I am a huge huge fan of anime and manga, one particular story premise I like are gamers who got suck in the game they are playing. As a gamer myself, it is actually one of the ultimate dreams. In line with that there are animes like 'Sword Art Online' and 'Log Horizon'. (Both have an anime and light novels)

You can say, the one im enthuastic about has the same plot line but vastly differ in terms of character content, which is something I really love about this light novel. The protagonist of the story is actually a villian who can actually get away with all the evil deeds he has done, which is non-typical of a villain.  The author never depicted any false heroism like underdogs winning or good always will prevail, he leans more on the realistics components of human thinking and logic. Anyway, I could go on all day about the novel series but I'll end up writing a very very very very long review. Final thoughts? the light novel series which has been translated to english is available now in Amazon and it would be a great help towards the publising company (translation) as well as the author himself. Anime and manga series is also available. I highly recommend.

I download this book last week from a good deal courtesy of amazon. Also it was included in my recommended, so I was pretty intrigued plus the summary was pretty cool. (Please refer to my bookshelf). i had my mani-pedi's done while I was reading it. It was pretty much a fast read, to be honest. Not that it took as much time as it did with doing my nails but what I'm saying is that it just took me possibly 3 hours to read through the whole thing.

I did enjoy the read, kinda reminds me of Sultans or Arabian/Indian cultures, I do believe the book was in reference to it, I don't know, maybe it was just me. Yeah, anyway. I really like the plot story, arena fighting/tournament and all, so I expect epic fighting scenes. I mean, they were 'trained' and all. but Ugh! it pains me to say this, but it fell so flat to me. For example, she was able to take down the 'strongest' fighter in her temple, and I'm like wtf? why didn't the fighter fight back? like that so... ugh, frustrating really. I don't know, the writer is making the heroine look like the underdog in the most frustrating way as possible because it was just simply unrealistic in my opinion the way she just 'somehow' won everything. There so many instances throughout the book that made me pinch the bridge of my nose in frustration. I really don't want to go into details because it would be a LOOOOOONG review. I guess the only thing I liked about it is the story itself. That's about it. Character development? Lacking. Details and Description? Lacking. Final thoughts? If you want to read it, by all means go ahead. Let me remind you all that everyone has different taste and very different ways to approached them. Usually, when it comes to books in series, I usually review when I finished reading all books, just in this case because personally I didn't like it as much as people rave about it in goodreads. I'll probably just finish the rest of the book series just to have some closure but I don't think i'll be rereading it anytime in future.

So I just finish reading the last book yesterday around midnight because I was pretty eager to be done with it, simply because it was 82 chapters and I have a tight schedule to follow. Anyway, *SPOILERS*, well you all know the drill; I will only point out stuff that raises a brow or two. Let’s start of with the 1st book. I really loved the 1st book because it was on point on what I imagined a sullie court would be and it was really good...like seriously good. The chemistry with Tamlin and Feyre was mind-blowing and my heart goes out to Tamlin. The 2nd book got me pretty skeptical because it feels like i got dump with cold water and now the story just shift 360 degrees. To be honest, I was just mad at how the author kinda go with the way the story is. Any reader will see that Tamlin isn’t perfect, he is entitle to make mistake and choices that may not be good ones but are to him the right ones at the moment. I just felt the author butchering Tamlin’s character all through out the story and he didn’t even get the happy ending he deserves. That was my pet peeved the entire series. Feyre to be honest, I just didn’t like her as the heroine simply because I deemed her to be the most selfish and inconsiderate of all the characters. She didn’t even stop and think of the consequence and choices she made and NEVER even one apologize for it. She acted however and whatever pleases her and has little to no regard to anyone else. Atleast Rhysand was painted noble. Which is why it took me months to be able to finally relent myself to reading the last book. Now that I have the 3rd book left so many loose ends. Lucien/Elain for example... Cassian/Nesta.... Tamlin/his happy ending.... etc. So many. Putting that aside, the story plot itself is very beautiful, the action and everything in it especially the war part which i like but still have questions.... ugh too many loose ends. Final thoughts? I’d rather just reread book one and stop there. I think book one was enough.

I’m really a big fan of all things fantasy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t read the more realistic ones. On that note, I was recommended by amazon and good reads to try out the series. When I read the little summary (which I showed below) it gave alot of promises.

In terms of expectations, it left me pretty disappointed. *SPOILERS* I won’t be thoroughly discussing alot of the story itself but I’ll just point out some of the stuff that pretty much raise a brow or two on me. So 1) There is definitely a confusion between the whole vampire-demon-fae aspect of the story. I don’t know where the author was leading with his story but it definitely did not give out a fine line difference to what is a vampire, demon or fae. Which is my whole issue through out the book. 2) The author gave out at the beginning a very impressive description of hell, like something very new to it, kinda like a positive side to it and suddenly, I don’t know what happened but it gave a 180degrees turn and hell seems alot more like an enchanted place to me with faes coming out left and right. 3) IT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. Final thoughts? No. I won’t be rereading the series anytime in the future whatsoever.

I’ve read this series 1-2 years ago and at that time I didn’t like it as much as I do now, probably because i skimmed through the series to finish it the first time. I went on a 3-days trip to the country side, so I brought along my handy-dandy kindle and downloaded this book series to get a refresher on it.

I’m actually a big fan of science fiction and although the series does justice to sci-fi genre, it doesn’t actually lean on it as much as I thought, it definitely is more intoo drama, romance and sex... lots of sex, almost every chapter of the whole effing series. It is not that I’m young or whatever (I’m 24, so yeah pretty adult here.) I just deemed it completely unnecessarily, like yeah I get it they like to have sex alot, so no need to actually put into details every little thing from start to finish cause damn it occupies 2-3 whole pages, Anyway, getting back to the story itself, it is actually pretty good. There are some aspect that I was surprised with especially the “villain” of the series. I didn’t see that coming. There are also aspects of the story that wasn’t elaborated more or that it was supposed to be in my opinion, one of the focal points but it didn’t pull through. Both main character does not have any development and most of the time I’m just effing irritated and annoyed at them. Final thoughts? I did reread this series, I might reread it 2-3 years later.

As a book lover and a huge fan of twilight series, when this series came out, I was really looking forward to it. Especially since it came out fresh after Breaking Dawn Part 2. I was pretty much in the pinnacle of hype-ness. I heard from people who have read the books before I did. (Yes I didn’t bought the book series immediately because I knew at that point it started as a fanfiction story) So I was opting to read it first to on that website, but sadly it was taken down to be made a book series. Anyway, I heard really good reviews. So I was getting my expectations really high, like seriously high. So when I got the first book and started devouring it, bless my poor soul, it gave me serious head-aches. Sex.. sex... SEX. Bless my eyes, I finish the whole series in one sitting merely by skipping most of the sex scene. Not going to go down a shady road. Final thoughts? NEVER again.

Let’s be real here, I was love-at-first-sight with the book cover. Like seriously beautiful and illumin-esque, Can we take a moment to enjoy those pop of colors for a minute....~! done? Okay. Moving on...

Aside from the beautiful book cover, the story is pretty much fantasy/adventure with a healthy does of romance, not as potent as one hope but still beautiful. Now the book to me covers alot more about self-discovery. It tackles about discrimination and bullying, which to me has always been a very big issue of every generation. The character development is very awe-inspiring and well-thought. One thing that made me not give out a full 5 stars is because i felt the ending was just rushed and it wasn’t explained thoroughly as I hope it would have. Final thoughts? I definitely recommend this.

I guess I was lucky that Amazon recommended the first book as a free download on Kindle. If I wasn’t so eager to get free books, I wouldn’t be able to read on more than one occasion this series. I absolutely love it.

The book series/trilogy has a lot of very unique aspect to it. Uno: it was written in a diary-esque way, which isn’t very common in terms of books point-of-view. I wouldn’t say it is a first-person since even in that POV, the writer is able to describe basically the emotions and alot of movements done by the main character. Basically, you get the general idea of what the character has done and mostly what she is thinking. The thing about this series is that even though it does not describe the minute detail of everything, it still does wonders to my imagination, like I could totally expand my mind and play the scene in my head. Second: A book epilogue. EPILOGUE. like seriously, Perfect dessert. It’s every readers delight, to actually have a book-written epilogue about the series itself. Anyway, the book is YA fantasy/Adventure with a slight sci-fi. I would definitely recommend the series.

From the less-than-a-dollar book store, i was lucky enough to have pick up this wonderful chronicles. Kresley Cole has been one of my favourite authors and the Arcana Chronicles is by far my favourite book series from her.

The book series is AMAZING. I can’t exactly explain in details as to why the series is that amazing. I mean Kresley Cole is amazing enough but this series is just AH-mazing. I highly recommend this series and please also read other books written by this author, you totally won’t regret it. This is YA Fantasy/Dystopian with alot of action and romance. The 5th book will be released this summer! EXCITED!
