Welcome to the Party

In a fit of nostalgia, I decided to hop on Netflix and binge on all things 90s. I never watched much TV in my high school days because I was an overachiever at school and never watched much TV other than Seinfeld, ER and British comedies on PBS. Also, we didn’t have the luxury of Tivo and streaming because the technology wasn’t there yet.  Back in my day (yeah I said it), you had to set the VCR on a timer and with a tape that was either blank or didn’t have something cherished on it.  The VCR my sister and I shared was already set for recording her stories...Guiding Light and Days of Our Lives.

I’m getting off track.

All that to say, after a lot of 90s TV watching, Netflix recommended me to watch the ever popular Party of Five and it has become my favorite show to hate watch.  It is sooooooo terrible. So, come on this little hate watching journal journey with me if you want and be closer to free.  Welcome to the party.

October 2014: Making my mark was always on my bucket list of things to do before I die. Never will I forget the day my grandfather showed me an article of my uncle flying back to Vietnam with my local high schools' soccer team to visit my sick great grandmother and touching hearts back in the homeland. My grandfather had lectured me on giving without receiving, being a good role model, and staying in school. From that moment on, I wanted to be the good person and granddaughter that he can be proud of. I have experienced many challenges that lead me to be the person I am today, and I'd like to share my voice. Here, I'd also like to show my journey and the awareness of many organizations I've been and currently still involved with. I enjoy being involved within my community and I want to inspire others to become involved as well, no matter where you are and what you do.

Closer to Free

100 mile ride all over Connecticut on September 9. The route was meh, poorly marked towards the end and the first 100 or so riders were misdirected. Otherwise the food was tasty and I got to demo a sweet ass bike. A BMC TMR01 with Di2 electronic shifting. The bike was sick. I absolutely loved it. The shifting was amazingly smooth and the frame was super tight and stiff.
