REASON FOR LARRY TO BE CLOSETED
Anti-Larry asks why Harry and Louis need to hide their relationship. They say things such as “it's 2019, no one will care if they are gay” or “If they were gay their management would accept it to appeal to a larger audience” but it isn't that simple. There is a lot of gray areas that would change how they look and approach things.
((I will try to categorize it to make it easier to help show how things would be affected by it))

BAND/BUSINESS/MANAGEMENT POV
*They wouldn't be allowed to be played, listened to, or hold concerts in certain countries who are homophobic ((an example of homosexuality being rejected by certain countries is the live-action Beauty and the Beast))
*This would drop their sales and yeah HL may not care about money but the people they are signed to sure do sooooooo
*Them being known as the GAY boys would lose how they appeal to their fans. Their management uses the boys to sexually appeal to females and men. They are first seen to fans as regular dudes but a bit of edge. Like Harry is seen as they long-haired bad boy who gets with anyone. ((which is farther from the truth))
*This will also cause a decrease in fans who only follow and support them to think that they could get with them. And yeah getting rid of the fake fans would be beneficial to the fandom but not to management who sees fake fans as a way to earn more money to get One Direction to be even more famous to get even more money.
*Homophobic parents and children would stop listening to One Direction thinking that every song that Harry and Louis make together or sing together would be filled with ways to manipulate their fans to turn gay. This would also cause money loss and even less support to the band.
*Now they are solo but remember that they are still under Columbian records and Syco which are very big and money-hungry companies. AAAANNNDDD they do still plan to come back together as a band so they wouldn't want to start over again with not as many fans as they used to have. They would want to keep business opportunities open.
*SYCO and Columbian Records also don't want their businesses to get a bad rep for hiding a gay couple in a WORLDWIDE famous boy band. If that were to happen many celebrities such as Will Smith, BTS, Beyonce. and way more would be affected because the company will then forever be associated with forced closeting and only caring about profit than their celebrities. This would cause other companies to not want to associate with them or their celebrities which would cause great money lose to both SYCO and Columbian Records.
*Them being the MAIN reason for the company to lose a lot of business would cause a lot of celebrities to feel bitter towards them cause it gets in the way of their jobs which are their only main source of income.
LIAM AND NIALL ((AND ZAYN))
*Causing the companies that ALL the bandmates are signed to fall into possible bankruptcy will also cause all of them to have money and job issues.
*Harry and Louis love the rest of the boys and would feel like their careers/ dreams would be ruined if so many fans and job opportunities would leave/stop and they couldn't play in as many places as they used to.
*The boys would be seen as liars and manipulators by hiding such a big secret from their fans and the public ((i will later get to how this would affect HL)) and a lot of fans who see them as trustworthy people would start to question if they should believe anything they say and may lose a lot of fans by it.
*A small but slight issue compared to everything else that would be affected is that everything Liam, Niall, and Zayn do would then be associated with Larry and possibly close to every interview would have at least one question about the two and what they thought.
HARRY AND LOUIS
*They would be seen as liars and manipulators to their fans. They have denied Larry so much and to fans who didn't believe in Larry to find out that someone they trusted and loved had been telling lies for years would cause a lot of hate on their part.
*Harry and Louis are private people and we know this but if they do reveal that Larry is real then we are ALL gonna want to know WHEN, WHERE, WHY AND HOW. And that is perfectly natural to want to know BUT they most likely just want to keep a lot to themselves to make things more special cause it is just theirs. Harry is a hopeless romantic he most likely finds the things he does with his significant other personal and private so he can appreciate it more.
*They would have to deal with a bucket of hate from homophobic people and fake fans who would stop stanning them when they stopped being “100% straight” all day every day”
*Louis hates articles who don't look up information and just bash on the boys and when/ if they come out, there would be tons of articles like that.
*Louis and Harry love their jobs and want to keep making music as long as they can so if the were to come out their careers from then on would be associated with one another even when it has no reason to. ((honestly no diffrent from now sooooo not a real valid reason but still putting it down))
