Cloud’s toxic trait is loving when he’s all Puppet Mode. Just being close to Sephiroth messes with him hard.

I hc that Cloud's just forever enamored with Sephiroth, and he can't help it. That fanboy in his heart. DESPITE EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENED TO HIM... Let's be real - given the right circumstances, (ALL PROBABLY TERRIBLE), he'd absolutely join him.

Thinks about Turk!Cloud AU.
Where he failed to get SOLDIER, but showed great promise with his physical strength. It was enough to catch the eyes of the Turks, and end up with them recruiting him into their group. Maybe Cloud still had undergone Mako-treatments.
Imagine all of that underlying guilt, tho, if he ever met up with Tifa again.
Couldn’t make it to SOLDIER, and ended up being slotted in with a very shady bunch, still under the large corporate umbrella of ShinRa.
I wonder if his personality would be slightly different? Maybe still all an act, though. Imagine him being a confident, and cocky little shit.
SO Cloud's new Ever Crisis outfit with it being all "Bahamut" themed?! HELLO??
Definitely adding it to my HC that he's way in-tune with the Bahamut Summon in VII. And in XVI he'd PROBABLY be REALLY attached to Dion. Whether that's subconsciously, or not, but just a whole constantly being "pulled" to him, kinda vibe. CONNECTED ON A DEEP LEVEL, and maybe not even realizing that.
And he's still gonna be vibing with my whole part-Cetra HC, too.

Finally attempting to dabble into this part-Cetra verse for Cloud, and it can be intertwined with all my verses of him, (unless I decide not to-- something I'd discuss with writing partners and all, of course!!) because it's kinda interesting to me, as a concept?
THIS IS GONNA BE ALL OVER THE PLACE, but bear with me...
IDK HOW he's part-Cetra. They do never really say anything about his father, except for that he died, sooo... It's really up in the air on that. WHO KNOWS? Maybe for this idea, I'll just leave all that to mystery / vague. So, who knows how much of their line is within Cloud, but it'd be enough to be noticeable, eventually.
So, Cloud has no idea he's that, at first, and maybe just being around the likes of Aerith, and the fact that the planet is in actual danger from Sephiroth - can just bring about those latent abilities; (speaking with the planet, being the main one.) Maybe he can sort of hear it, sort of commune with it, or tries to. However the hell he eventually finds out is when all that can start to really have some kinda impact on him.
Cloud all like: "Oh. So THAT's why I was able to be okay with Aerith just talking to the flowers...." Or not at all really bothered by her adorable quirks / enamored with the fact that she's so in-tune / caring over the planet.
Thinking about cute half-Cetra Cloud not knowing he's that, and hearing little whispers of plants / flowers speaking to him.
Cloud constantly with this internal war of wanting to both fight, and just do whatever Sephiroth wants him to do.
Cloud’s hands are VERY sensitive.
