Fast and agile Cloud still slower and weaker in pure numbers than his opponents, so weapon must have immediate answer (be solid), but still leave place between him and opponent.

Weapon must be easy to hide or disguise and still not to be obvious choice for fighter like Cloud, so he'll have time from opponents necessity to adjust.

Weapons should be good for close distance and keeping attention on Cloud to support Rufus' fight style.

As one of decisive point was ability to catch SOLDIER swords (like buster or training one).
