any chance we could get anther letter from the storm spire that stuff was gold
Oh yes? Lain’s brisk but casual style does grow on you, doesn’t it? Let’s see what else I’ve saved, then. *rustles through folder again*
Oh, here’s a cute one from shortly after they left the Silvergrove. *fond smile, sits to read*
Dear friends,
New Moon spent inside this month. Sky too big with no moonlight in it. Skywings also have unfortunate habit of rowdy air dueling on new Moon nights. Tiadrin spent evening sharpening sword you gave her, hoping for actual collisions. Alas, all woke safe next morning.
Found cute cloudblossom flower yesterday in crevice during morning run up Spire stairs. Thought Rayla would enjoy it. Actual cloud on stem! Would’ve attached to letter, but flower rained on first draft and then blew away. Runaan would appreciate unstoppable stealth. Sketched it in case you want to show Rayla illusion for me. You draw better than me. Hm. Rayla does too. Do your best, bud.
Egg quiet. Queen sings to him. Dragon voice very pretty when soft. Reminds me of you humming Rayla to sleep. Miss hearing that at naptime.
Do not miss actual naptime though. Best of luck.
Wife planning vertical obstacle course for training. Skywings supportive but baffled. Wing privilege is strong, but they have good hearts. Am considering accepting offer for sky surfing. Tiadrin starting to sound more like Runaan with protests of irresponsibility. Called her buzzkill. She called me actually killed. Good thing the logical ones are hot, yes? You understand.
Wishing you and Runaan soft breezes. Especially Runaan. Our hair already a mess. He’d need a mage bun to cope here. Can you imagine? Me neither. All our love to you and precious Rayla.
Lain and Sweet Tiadrin
Ha. Lain made plenty of jokes about Runaan’s hair if we ever went to visit them at the Storm Spire. It was his way of telling Runaan it’s okay to be apart.
And I did spin up an illusion of the cloudblossom for Rayla. She was really excited because I made it look like a fluffy adoraburr sitting in a flower.
