Happy 64th Birthday Leon Schneiderman !! [25th January, 1954]

Leon was a childhood friend of Danny’s who would join him on his travels around Africa after they graduated from High School. Danny had to go back home due to ill health, but Leon remained in Africa until the Summer of 1972, when he received a letter from Danny asking him to return to Los Angeles to join The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo.

Leon is a self-taught musician and also built many of the band’s instruments, including the balafons used in their second studio album, Nothing to Fear. He would remain with the band through their transition into a rock band and contribute to every Oingo Boingo recording until their breakup in ‘95. He went on to join the fusion music group Cloudfire and continues to build and play his own percussion instruments.
