Clover lawn was almost the best idea in my backyard, I love it soooo much 🍀
The park near where I used to live used to have huge areas of clover growing, and I always loved how it looked. It was so much more vibrant than the grassy areas - in winter and spring, at least, it usually died down a bit in summer. But it always made me want a clover lawn when I got my own home.
Here's the park:
This park also came alive with native wild flowers in the spring. That's the thing I miss the most since moving - I love the native plant life in the Garden Route, but the wild flowers up the West Coast in spring are truly something else.
This same park in spring:
Most of these flowers are considered weeds, but I would absolutely love to fill my entire lawn with them.
☘️ Grass lawns waste time, pollute, and harm wildlife. Clover lawns need no mowing, help pollinators, enrich soil, and stay soft! 🍀
"Go touch some grass"
Grass is a shitty fucking plant that has no business being the default yard plant. Fuck grass. All my homies hate grass. Go touch native wildflower species and appreciate the inherent beauty in biodiversity amongst a yard that feeds native butterfly and bee populations, as well as other native insect populations that feed animals in the area. Help prevent native bee species from going extinct by having a yard made up of native wildflower species and various other plants.
HOAs are a SCAM tear up your grass yard and FEED THE BEES
How does someone look at something like this and prefer standard grass lawns?
Clover lawn takeover update:
some people hate clover but i love our clover lawn
