the patient before him has gone through two other psychiatrists before him — they’ve been rather unsuccessful in their attempts to treat him. and so, the case has been been passed onto him. “mr. fleck,” he said with a profession tone as he sat across from him (the man has been securely handcuffed). “i know it is customary for me to ask you a question, but i thought that i would open the floor up and let you talk about whatever is on your mind.” he knew that it was first important to gain a patient’s trust.

     “ - Everything ok, sir?”

Her badge is somewhat concealed in the darkness, shrouded by the coat adorning her to keep from the chill of Gotham City. It was getting late in the night, but not quite at the time that she would start growing concerned. Seeing the backside of someone seemingly sitting by their lonesome for some reason caught her attention, & made her swiftly just want to check if this one was ok.

     “Are you waiting on someone, or just hanging out?”

     She’s been reading over the card he seemed to have handed her for a few silent moments, minuscule smile rising on her features when she shifts to return said card. “Oh, ok - I understand, no worries! You know, there’s a whole race of beings that display emotion just in laughter ? Even the sad times, and angry times.”

the weekends are technically his days off. but thomas’ mind is whirring at all hours of the day about his cases and the work he has to do. with the cooler autumn weather creeping in, he’s wearing a long coat over top his suit, with polished black dress shoes that never seem to stay clean for very long as he traverses gotham. he’d decided to take the afternoon to explore one of gotham’s boroughs that he had not yet gotten a chance to visit. before he made it to the edge of the alleyway, he could hear a great ruckus — familiar sounds that make him tense. he looks down the alleyway and sees a bunch of teenagers kicking someone on the ground. “hey!” he shouted loudly, which only barely got their attention. “i’m gonna call the fucking cops!” but when he started barreling down the road, they were quick to begin running down the other direction. he can’t see much of the man other than his brightly coloured suit as he kneels down to inspect his condition. “hey. hey, are you okay?” he asked in a sincere, concerned tone.

During all this time, Angrboða had been trying to avoid any possible contact with her neighbours. It was the smartest move. After everything she went through with her husband’s family, she wanted to protect herself from everybody. Making the whole word her opponent, like if the entire universe had an evil plan against her. She couldn’t help it, probably as time heals her wounds, she will feel more comfortable with social interactions.

But at that moment, she didn’t know what to think. The man before her saw her struggling to carry all her grocery bags and his offering was very convenient since the elevator wasn’t working...again. The dark-haired woman wanted to be careful but, at the same time, being rude wouldn’t bring her any benefits ❝Oh, alright, thank you❞ She said with a brief smile ❝I live on the third floor, first door next to the stairs❞

“actually you can, mr. fleck. perhaps the biggest way to help is being open to me helping you.” maggie was professional as usual with the man sitting across from her, but she tried to maintain a friendly demeanor to show that this wasn’t going to be anything more than a chance to know the patient that she’d be working with. “i’ve heard a lot about you & what you’ve done around gotham. i’d say it’s impressive but i don’t think i can condone the crimes.”
