I stop by your page and look at all the recipes you reblog. I'm happy that you also enjoy Alice in Wonderland, especially the Disney movie. It's hard to find other people who enjoy it and I would love to chat about it with you if you're okay with that. Did you know it turned seventy-four today? Or maybe you're an hour or two ahead and it's now the 27th.
Thanks, anon. I just logged on, and it is indeed the 27th of July. We must be in different time zones.
I did not know the Disney movie turned 74. Back in 2021, before I made this blog, I shared a lot of Alice In Wonderland posts on Facebook for its 70th anniversary. I follow a few Alice in Wonderland blogs myself, and let me tell you something, they're mad about the movie. One of them even did a 30 Day Alice Challenge where they shared their favorite things about Alice in Wonderland (the books and the film adaptations, but especially the Disney one).
On the WMG page on TV tropes, I read that the movie was an allegory for autism. That the Wonderlanders stood in for certain traits of autistic people, and that Alice stood for an autistic person trying to make sense of the world. I guess that's why the movie appealed to me so much because I would watch the VHS tape ALL. THE. TIME!
Oh, I'm sorry for shouting. The point is the Disney flick was a huge part of my life. I dressed up as Alice for Halloween when I was little, and a few years ago, my parents got me tickets for the CluedUpp AIW scavenger hunt for Christmas. It was held in downtown Jacksonville, and I dressed up as the Queen of Hearts while my parents dressed as card soldiers.
