The delicate perfume of flowers hung in the air, some areas the scent being denser yet light in their own manner. Some flowers felt overwhelming, but the air felt comfortable in the carefully constructed garden.
Honey-sweet and honey-colored blossoms caught his attention at first, but so did something else. While walking among the flowers and enjoying their company, Ayumu never noticed many within the aisles of blooming plants. Normally he’d simply indulge in the peaceful silent company of delicate flowers, but today felt different.
Instead, there was the company of another; a student such as himself he could only assume. He didn’t recognize them however- and even he were still fairly new in his own respect, he was able to recognize people from his classes and within his year as well.
With the possibility coming to mind, he felt a swell within his chest. A feeling akin to responsibility for some reason.
Ayumu experienced something like excitement as he found himself approaching. Being an upperclassman, he felt the need to be friendly even if it was unnecessary. He was curious as well, seeing as he hasn’t talked to many people who loitered around the gardens such as himself.
It suddenly felt a little careless though, seeing as he already approached without a second thought. He hadn’t even bothered to consider the other’s feelings.
What if they’d rather not be bothered? Was he intruding?
These thoughts didn’t go far though seeing as he was already standing beside the idol as he seemed to be leaned over slightly to make sure he was within the underclassman’s view, flashing them a friendly smile.
“It’s nice, right?” Ayumu began casually, first looking to him and then looking ahead to the flowers in front of them. A fond smile seemed to play at his lips as he looked towards the pale hue of the flowers among them.
“You can tell they take care of them.” His voice held a gentle tone, as if not wanting to disturb the calming atmosphere the garden had to offer. Just shouting some greeting would break the air for sure.
It felt like an odd meeting now that he thought about it, not even bothering to introduce himself yet. He wasn’t even entirely sure if the other would want him there to begin with. He figured though, if this person were in the gardens, maybe they were a tad bit similar to him.
