It was cold that night as Cassie sat on the hilltop, knees pulled firmly to her chest. This had been a long day, dragging on for years it seemed, and the lone moment was a good way to end it. Every breath she took was awarded with a puff of fog passing her lips and disappearing into the darkness. She shivered and pulled her jacket closer to her body. Above her the light of a million stars shimmered and broke the inky blackness of the sky. 

The woman stared at them a moment, her mind wandering to the distant planets that she named from memory, before the snap of a twig caught her attention. Cassie sighed, but did not move. "It's not polite to follow people, you know. Especially ones that you don't know." She had failed today, she had been seen, and now she would pay that price. Cassie turned her face to look over her shoulder, staring at the place she knew the Doctor would be hidden.

"I won't bite, I promise."
