who’s the cuddler: Shane. It’s always Shane. He kind of does it subconsciously; his arm around her, scooting a little closer in bed, sitting on the couch so close their arms touch and it just makes sense for him to hold her. It took some time for Carol to used to, especially after Ed, but she finds it sweet and, honestly, pretty damn adorable.
who makes the bed: Carol. Shane tries, but she has a very particular way of doing it and he never really seems to get it right.
who wakes up first: Shane; he’s usually up and on a run a good hour before Carol even stirs. She usually only stirs when she hears the shower running after he gets back-- and yes, sometimes (most of the time) her first decision of the day is to sneak into the bathroom to join him.
who has the weird taste in music: Shane thinks that Carol’s music is kind of weird. Not bad, just weird. It’s a lot of stuff by artists he’s never even heard of before, and a lot of it is a little too mellow for him.
who is more protective: Shane is ridiculously protective of both Carol and Sophia. He’s seen their kind of situation first hand more times than he ever cared to in his line of work, and he feels personally responsible for their happiness and well-being. He won’t let anyone or anything mess with his girls.
who sings in the shower: Carol. She actually has a really good voice, and the longer she’s with Shane the more openly she sing- in the shower, in the kitchen, in the garden- and you can bet he’s just around the corner, listening.
who cries during movies: Shane will deny it to his grave, but Carol knows she saw his eyes glistening the night they watched The Notebook. He held onto her hand a little tighter, too, but he still swears she’s imagining things.
who spends the most while out shopping: Shane. Carol has always been frugal. Shane tries, but he’s pretty impulsive, especially if something in the store makes him think of Carol or Sophia.
who kisses more roughly: Shane. He tries to be gentle, but he can get very ‘in-the-moment’ and forget himself. He always worried about how Carol might react, but she’s always quick to reassure-- she trusts him, after all, and knows he would never hurt her.
who is more dominate: Shane, usually, but Carol has been taking the reigns more and more. They’ll go back and forth, depending on the day and their moods.
