♔—- The younger God didn’t say much. In fact, he didn’t say anything at all. He didn’t even look at the elder chaos deity, instead choosing to stare off into the corner of the room for several long moments. It was just like Set to offer an ‘I’m sorry’ mixed with a declaration of love and expect that to be the end of things. For Set, he thought that was more than enough, because he rarely offered anyone else an actual apology, but for Loki? Gods, how many times had he heard that from people in his life? Past lovers? Friends? Even his own father and brother?
Words didn’t mean much and as someone who spun his use of them in the cleverest of ways, it made sense that he would know that thoroughly and to the bone.
So why was it that he found himself believing Set so easily?
From a logical and emotional standpoint, Loki knew that Set loved him. Loki knew that Set had never known a love like theirs. They both relished in it when they were actually together, but just because he loved Set and Set loved him, in turn, didn’t mean that Set could just… get away with every single thing he did. Loki was understanding and forgiving, but how much did he half to give?
“I love you too, Set,” he finally replied, though he didn’t actually look up to meet Set’s crimson eyes. “But you can’t keep doing this to me. This has to stop.”
