The Copper Mountain College Foundation will kick off the holiday season with their highly anticipated Festival of Wreaths event on Sunday. Doors open at 2 p.m. to view the unique creations, with bidding starting at 3 p.m.

Enjoy a cash bar, small bites and desserts along with plenty of holiday cheer as the community comes together to support the educational successes of local students. Dear Wreath Makers,

We are looking forward to seeing you and your friends at one of the Morongo Basin’s favorite holiday traditions, the annual Festival of Wreaths at Copper Mountain College.  We are planning for a November 19, 2023 grand holiday celebration and live auction in the Bell Center gymnasium! 

We would love to have your business make a wreath (centerpiece, tree, gift basket) to be included in this year’s event.  You can drop off your creation at CMC Room 116 or we will send someone to pick it up.  We take many pictures and list your business’ creation on our blog and social media. We will bring you a flyer to display plus tickets to the event.  We will promote! Thank! Share! Like!

Your support helps Copper Mountain College students with books, technology, upgraded labs and facilities.  We use these donations for the Hunger Free Campus program, KC Special, to give free bus rides on MBTA to school and to support our high school completers with GED vouchers to take their final test.  College looks different nowadays, but the needs are still there.  And the opportunity to help a college student is greater than ever.  We hope you will play along.  There are no “rules” be as creative as you want. Use whatever materials you like. Add some fun goodies to the wreath, or not. One of the fun activities at the Festival of Wreaths on November 20 at CMC is the ORNAMENT TREE! Handcrafted, unique ornaments are on sale for $10. Our elves are there to wrap your purchase too. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE AN ORNAMENT or two or three from your business or yourself, we would BE SO VERY GRATEFUL. Not everyone wants to commit to make a wreath or centerpiece so this allows you to play along and help students too. Drop off your ornaments at the Foundation Office in Room 116 at CMC or get with me, Sandy, Kris, Renee, Chelsi, any board member and we will add your ornament to the tree. A newbee to this year’s Festival of Wreaths at Copper Mountain College is Joshua Tree Candle Company. Established in 2015, this local business is dedicated to bringing the desert to your home. Made in small batches with scents such as Cactus Flower, Pinyon Pine, and JT Campfire each candle radiates a love of the Mojave Desert. Over $850 worth of JT Candle Co products to treat yourself or give as gifts!  More than just candles, this gift box includes wax melts, air fresheners and home and linen sprays even a special bottle of Joshua Tree wine donated by Mike Polland. All proceeds from the Festival of Wreath on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Copper Mountain College, 6162 Rotary Way, Joshua Tree will benefit local students striving to change their lives through higher education. The public is welcome to join us at 2 pm.
