Dead Past | Jane Shepard & Garrus Vakarian
The mission had gone better than expected, though not better than most. Exhaustion plagued Shepard and everyone else involved. Liara, who refused to put down her task at hand requested the help of the commander in a seemingly impossible task. Thankfully, this was Shepard they were talking about, which made nothing impossible.
An odd feeling pulled and tugged at Garrus' insides when all was said and done. Now, with Liara's unlimited resources, he found the ship rather lacking, Shepard's presence leaving a void in the halls. Determined to find out the reason, the turian made his way for her cabin.
It was unlike Shepard to separate herself from the crew, even more so, from him. They had grown closer, allowing a new bond and trust to form and flourish. Garrus never had to second-guess her and vice versa.
As the turian arrived, he stood perfectly still outside the door, wondering if he should knock or just let himself in. After another half second of deliberation, he rapped on the door, making his presence known before he strolled through.
Shepard sat silently, not even looking up as she pored over a datapad in her hand while half a dozen others lay scatted around her. Garrus' brow plate dipped in concern as he made his way down the small set of steps and closer to the bed. "Shepard...what is it?"
