Rou wasn’t particularly happy about the reassignment, she’d grown to love her crew very much and even temporarily being shifted until the refit of the Enterprise was done was a huge inconvenience for her. Of course she’d treat this new crew with the same respect and admiration she had on ever other ship she’d served on, the Ferragut, the Pegasus, and then the Enterprise, but she knew her heart belonged to the Enterprise now. Then again five years ago she’d say she belonged on the Pegasus and four before that her life was held tandem to the Ferragut. She knew she’d grow with this new ship. She’d learn to love the crew. Even if she would spend her time waiting to return to the Enterprise.
As the Counselor approached the ship she had a lot of time to think over what happened recently. Her arm was still shiny and sensitive from the break she’d sustained and she had plenty of bruises over her face and arms, fading into a sickly green and yellow color, so maybe getting away for a time would do her good. She was leaving behind her crew though and, in this time of need, it felt wrong. Of course, they weren’t letting her help her crew out anyways. This wasn’t just their trauma, it was hers as well.
Rou, as she stepped aboard, looked around the ship in awe. Smaller then the Enterprise, the Hamilton had a more close feel to it. It wasn’t closed off and certainly wasn’t going to bother her claustrophobia just by being there. It was nice. Beautiful, like all other Starship is in it’s own unique way. She brought her eyes back to a level field and smiled when she spotted the man there waiting for her. She moved over to him, offering her hand. “Counselor Rou Bennet, sir. You must be the First officer. Pleasure to be here.”
