Christmas Miracles, July Surprises || Miarren
Even though being in full swing labor was a thought that had crossed her mind, Mia expected things to run smoothly and be out of the hospital that night. But when the medicines failed, Mia had wondered if the next time she would go home would be with her babies-- or without. She had said once or twice it wasn't likely that she'd last until 34 weeks but that didn't mean she had thought this early. They were both scared to death for many reasons, one which includes not being prepared in general. Instead of fighting over the nursery, Mia and Darren agreed that the necessities were needed to be set up. Chuck and a few friends would get the rooms ready, just in case, and it could always be designed later by Darren. But she knew that she was going to walk into a Starwars themed nursery anyway because, as much as Darren wanted to do it, Mia and the babies needed to come home to some kind of stress free environment. Sacrifices. The safety for the babies in general was a huge concern and, even at this point, the doctors were trying their hardest to have Mia hold off. Each day could mean the difference between proper lung development or not. Luckily at 29 weeks, there was a 95% survival rate. Maybe a little time in the NICU but, for the most part, their outcome was bright. This didn't stop the worrying mom-to-be and she stayed awake through the whole night. A nurse came in to rate her pain which was low at this point, maybe some kind of super sonic mother adrenaline rush forcing her body to slow its row. It was more extreme discomfort than pains. "Are Ma and Bill almost here?" Mia asked when the woman left, attempting to turn onto her side but having the machine go off for only the millionth time. "Dammit, I hate this thing." Her husband had to have became a pro at resetting the adhesive and machine. "I'm sorry."
