After what felt like an eternity of writer's block, I finally got around to updating my main OC fic. I used to think that I enjoyed writing action scenes... then this chapter came along. Paradise, 1523.
While on the hunt for a hundred hearts, Trafalgar Law and his crew face an unforeseen hurdle. Their targets are going missing one by one, with several turning up killed and mysteriously decapitated. Law's search for answers eventually brings him face to face with Murasaki Arisa, an operative of a Wano-based yōkai hunting organization.
The encounter plunges the Hearts headlong into the clandestine world of yōkai hunters: their archaic sorcery and fantastical monsters, their intelligence networks and incestuous clan politics, their rigid hierarchies and secret societies.
Recognizing the potential goldmine in their intel, Law recruits Arisa's help in negotiating an alliance with the powerful Uzuki clan. But the pact is fragile from the start, and things are complicated further when Law's tenuous relationship with Arisa takes an unexpected turn.
Later, neither can anticipate the fallout that awaits them as they begin to uncover the paper trail of a horrific conspiracy.
