appetite for destruction is the best debut album WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS WAS GNR'S FIRST RECORD???? but i love this song for it's lore as well, but this is one of my all time favourite albums! axl rose wanted to write a nice song for a girl the band was friends with, he wanted to write michelle a song about her and he wanted it to be beautiful like her. but she didn't have a sweet life and she was tough and this fit better than the earlier versions, and even though he didn't want to insult her the band showed her and she essentially said 'cool! yeah release it i don't give a fuck, thank you!' and then it became one of The Songs Of All Time to her immense surprise... and i saw guns n roses play this LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM THIS YEAR HOLY FUCK
