So you recently got a haircut and you were afraid of what your boyfriend would think of it.
You see, li rang had always been fond of your longer hair.
No one knew this but he was very gentle when it was just the two of you.
He even learned how to braid just so he can braid your locks.
This time, you had yours styled into a pixie cut because the season was becoming warmer.
You wanted to get the weight off your head and that means chomping a huge chunk of it off.
Today happened to be your second anniversary with him but he told you that he wanted to cook a homemade meal for you instead.
You gave yourself a pampering day today so that included going to the salon.
You also bought his favorite cake as a sort of present to him.
When you arrived home, he was still preparing the table for your dinner.
The nervousness was growing inside of you that you somehow thought that maybe you should have bought a wig and hid it for a while.
As he finished, he instantly turned to you with a soft smile.
Then he realized.
You looked different.
You looked like a fairy.
He just stared at you and you could not make if it was a good stare or a bad stare.
"Hey."

It was now awkward and you bit down on your bottom lip.
Rest assured, the dinner was also a bit awkward since he just kept on glancing at you then eating silently.
When you two were laying down on the couch, you noticed how he started combing your hair with his fingers.

"What are you doing, rang?"
"Getting used to having a fairy as a girlfriend, I guess?" He laughed as he continued to comb your hair with his fingers.
"D-do you like it? I always thought you preferred me with longer hair..." you mumbled as you turned your body to face him.
"Y/n...I never dated you for your physical appearance. I dated you because we both had the same interests and values...so even if you had been bald, I would still date you."
"You're such a cheeseball." You said as you gently pushed his attention away by patting his cheek.

The harvest was nearing and everyone was preparing for the harvest festival.
All the farmers were preparing all their best fruits and vegetables as an offering to the village.
It was also known as a festival where lovers were chosen by the harvest spirits.
You did not care much about that, what you cared for was beating Zibo.
He was of the same age as you.
He was aspiring to be the village's best farmer but you were in the way.
See, most of the townspeople would compare you to one another and you hated that a lot.
He hated it as much.
It just so happened that you lived right next to each other so you would trashtalk one another.

A few of the townspeople though kind of are rooting for both of you to end up with one another.
It would be perfect though if you two did.
You guys produced the best harvest so people would benefit if you two join forces.
Also, you two look extra damn fine and would probably produce godlike offsprings.
You would fake vomit whenever you heard that.
No matter what they said, you two hated one another's guts.
It was until a few days prior to the festival, a few of your crops and his crops were being stolen.

Of course, you two blamed one another first.
But then decided to work together to catch the thief.
You took turns camping in each other's house.
You learned that Zibo makes the best pumpkin stew while he learned that you made the best apple pie.
You two were actually starting to hit it off.
Then while you were just sitting in front of the roasting fire.
He brought up a question that may have lingered in your mind as well. "Why do we even hate one another?"
"Probably because we both want to be the best."
"Can't we both be the best?"
"You're right. We probably could." You smiled softly and looked at him.
"Let's call it a truce then? To our harvest war?" He smiles as well as he looks at you.
"Truce."
And you don't know why but you were somewhat drawn to his eyes. They were sharp but his eyes only had a gentle gaze.
He however, was drawn to your lips. Like he was in a spell, he slowly leaned in.
You didn't even pull back, still to captured in his eyes.
It was until you heard the rustling that snapped you both to reality.
'The thief' he mouthed as he cocked his head to the direction of the window.
As you two readied your nets, you felt somehow embarrassed.
You both kind of realized that you were about to kiss if it wasn't for the thief.
As you two made your attack.
You heard groans from inside the net.
"Fan Chengcheng?" You both looked so confused.
He was one of the village elder's sons.
"Why are you stealing our vegetables?"
"Because my father said that it was a way to gwt you two to befriend one another. It was just a mission! Plus all the vegetables, you can get back from my father!" He said as he struggled within the net.
Was this all a plot? Yes.
As you released him and brought him to his house. The village elder apologized and returned the stolen vegetables.
He was happy though that you two finally became friends.
If only they knew.
As you two walked back home, Zibo tugged you by the wrist.
As you turned around to him, your eyes widened as he leaned in close and pressed his lips on yours.
You did not know why but you just kissed him back instead of pushing him away.
Bonus:
It had been after two harvests that you two decided to get married. Chengcheng claimed he should be the best man since he did kind of helped in getting the two of you together.
Of course the village was extra happy.
You two would prepare the best meals during the harvest.
It was until the third harvest that everyone was thrilled that you two were having a child.
That's why your child went by being called the harvest miracle.
