Lucinda Leonora Talkalot is truly both a romantic and a realist among pure-bloods. Of course, she’s grown up knowing that one day she would marry and it would be her responsibility to carry on a sacred family name. But Lucinda grew up quite idealistic -- always hoping that she would be one of the lucky few who came to love and respect her partners. Such a view stemmed from her parents own unorthodox marriage -- one which one the outside certainly would not appeared to have been one to admire. Her mother, Rosamund, was quite young when she was matched with her father but their affection grew slowly but assuredly. And by the time Lucinda was old enough to understand that not everyone within their circle was quite as lucky in marriage, they were very much besotted with one another.
Although she’s a full three minutes younger than her twin brother, Alistaire, Luce has always felt like the older sister. As a child she was always very affectionate and motherly towards him, and when their mother passed away in childbirth when the twins were just ten years old, Lucinda definitely took the role to an extreme. Her protective nature and usual worrying extend to more than just Al -- she has a tendency to be like that with all of their friends -- but it’s certainly heightened when it comes to her brother. The twins have always been close and rarely were they separated throughout childhood or Hogwarts. And now that Lucinda’s becoming more passionate about her career in quidditch and focused on her romantic relationship, she wonders how the two of them -- who have never truly been separate -- can be?
Quiddith has been the love of Lucinda’s life since second year. Due to her relatively small stature, she first tried out as chaser and even made it onto the team. However it became clear relatively quickly that the position was not for her. Known for being kind and certainly the least temperamental of her circle, it was really a shock for everyone who knew her when she picked up the beaters bat for the first time. Honestly? They laughed. But there was a lot of anger and grief built up inside her, and Lucinda quickly found that a bludger was the best way to let it out. In her sixth year she made captain, becoming Slytherin’s youngest female captain in almost fifty years and truthfully nothing could’ve made her happier.
Luce and Al’s father -- a high ranking official in the ministry -- was killed by what appeared to be muggle sympathizers. For the better part of a year she truly could not cope with the death of the elder Talkalot. Although she’s now doing much better, what was once an indifference towards muggles and muggleborns has grown into a more negative outlook. Although she would never join the Death Eaters herself, she certainly has more sympathy towards their cause and privately is now far more likely to support their efforts. While she's always been far more tolerant than her peers and particularly those in her inner circle, such a close hit has left her reeling and certainly far more critical towards muggleborns and their cause.
Although her grandparents are most definitely against her working now that Hogwarts has officially been shut down, Lucinda has turned a deaf ear towards their objections. She believes that enough has been taken from her over the years, and quidditch is one of the few things that brings her any true happiness -- she’s not very likely to give that up.
