I'm just off the phone with a family member in Ireland. I only ever remember how much I miss the hiberno English and the "Irishisms" when I get done talking to them. It's more...poetic, more romanticised, more melodic, and that's just simple conversations...
He didn't "buy the ingredients for..." - no, he "picked up the makings of ."
He didn't "just get out of the shower ." - no, he's "only after a shower ."
He isn't "waiting for dinner" - no, he's "waiting on the feed, there ."
Ahhh! Take me back - I miss living over there so much. 😭
