HILARIOUS? How I Caught A Co-Teacher Eating From A Pupil’s Lunchbox
HILARIOUS? How I Caught A Co-Teacher Eating From A Pupil’s Lunchbox
Yes, I know we teachers should be weary, yes I know we should be ripping our inner garments for the gory nature of the economicsphere but it shouldn’t stop us from putting on that big smile sometimes and yet illuminating our life.
Was there a time you taught in a school? Share some of your OMG moments.
Here’s mine: I remember a day I caught a co-teacher eating from a pupil’s lunchbox.
I was like…

Some days are mostly about math and a little about modifications and accommodations. Other days, like this one, are just as much about special education as they are about math. Working on meeting the needs of all of my students!
Adventures with a Bitchy Co
Part 345.
So today, shes being her usual pleasant self until about 3rd period. On my timetable, that she wrote, it said we have class 3rd period. No one comes, so I send her a message. “Do we have class now? On my time table it says we have (blahblah) class.” Her response: “I told you yesterday. We did that class yesterday.” As if I am the exhausting one. Mind, you she generally doesnt explain her reasoning to me for more than 15 seconds because of her apparent seething hatred of me, so it is quite possible she said this and I missed it. So I respond “Sorry, no need to be rude. I must’ve misunderstood.” and then when I go down stairs to ask about a copy machine question, she just explodes with attitude, saying its not her job to worry all the time about hurting my feelings. I’m like, uh? No hurt feelings. I am annoyed and stressed because you are always insanely rude to me, but I’m great other than that. And her response is “Well, as I told you before, I can’t be nice to you because I am worried that if I am nice to you, youll will start talking to me again and asking me non-school things.” Me: Why would I do that when we already agreed that I wouldnt talk to you except when necessary? Since we agreed to that, have I done anything that gives you a reason to think I would break our agreement? No. No I haven't. So, if you could stop responding so aggressively to everything I say, that would be greattttt.
Lunch meeting....date? Hmmm...
Ok so Saturday was a day I was kind of dreading. My co-teacher (well now formal co-teacher) asked me out to lunch Monday for it. Also told me to invite Keri along. Which is like um…ok? She wanted to have lunch with her nephew and sister. Which was even more like…”um…ok?”
Finally the day came and I swear I never knew Wangsimni had so much! I shall explore one weekend. My goodness.
Anyways, get outside the exit and bam co-teacher and *drum rolls* ….. …. … .. .
OMG who’s that cute guy? Hello~
……
…..
….
…
..
.
Her son! Like waaaahhhhh?
He studies in the US but he came back. Totally shocking. So it’s like “ok now your son is here… Where’s the nephew and sister…the two I knew was suppose to be here?”
We find our way around since it came to light that neither my co-teacher nor her son has even been there. Took them 30 minutes to find it themselves. So we find our way around together and bam we see her sister who is super pretty. Then we go into a restaurant only to see two more nice looking people. My co-teacher’s nephew and niece. O.o
Like what?
Like well then let’s just meet the entire family why don’t we? And you guys have amazing genes. My goodness…
We eat at a “Japanese” restaurant. Co-teacher apologized about the food which was good. Just a lot. Her sister is an artist. She paid for our meal. Seems she’s the one who picked the place also. My co-teacher’s son told us earlier that they didn’t choose it. Which honestly was hilarious.
So of course Keri and I are all “um…alrighty~” The son, nephew and niece were the same. The niece was just quiet in general. My co-teacher’s son was the one who got everything started basically. The nephew asked questions, but the son was a bit more talkative. After awhile they were constantly asking things. So the flow was really nice.
Funny thing is, Keri and I were trying to figure out how on earth they were able to finish their food while talking so much and we weren’t. Then we realized that they took turns asking questions, BUT asked both of us at the same time. Giving us very little time in between to eat because they would look at you waiting for you to answer and such. Sneaky~
I’m not going to put everything we talked about. It was too much. We talked about anything from foods we miss in the US,taking AP courses in high school to how crazy things are in the US and how isolated my countryside is here. -.- It is not that isolated. People just be hating hahaha.
After lunch, my co-teacher asked if we had time for “tea”. It’s like “yeah sure.” It wasn’t too late.
This is when you know things are going well. If they were like “nope nothing is happening. They would have said “see ya~!” right after lunch. Not “Oh, let’s do tea!” So, we went to a cafe.
While walking, I realized that the guys kind of split up. At first they were walking ahead a little, then suddenly one was on each side. One beside me and one beside Keri. I’m thinking like “You guys pairing up already?” They talked while we were going to the cafe. The nephew was invading my personal bubble. Merging his into mine. I swear…Shockingly, I didn’t mind hahahaha.
Get to the cafe which was my co-teacher and her sister’s way to prolong us being together. Because during the entire time they were talking back and forth smiling at the fact that we were all getting along. Which is like O.o alrighty then…
I end up across from le nephew again. They (nephew and son) have long legs and my legs aren’t exactly short. Help a sistah out~ Couldn’t move but so far or legs would be touching. Which ended up happening. And it’s like screw it, I’m not moving, you move. Only he didn’t. *le sigh* Game well played sir, well played.
They both make great eye contact too. I normally shy away from that stuff in general. Yet I don’t know didn’t with them. Hmm…
Then, my co-teacher moves. I know she wanted to get into the middle to see how everything was going. And of course what I knew would happen, happened….She turns to Keri and asks,
wait for it….
wait….
waittttuuuu…
……
…..
…
…
..
.
"So, what do you think of my nephew?"
*dies laughing* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh that….freaking priceless.
Everyone’s face was like O.o;;;
Her son was zoning out so he didn’t catch it. Heck I barely did because well…I was zoning out too looking around at all the stuff I DID NOT know Wangsimni had.
Keri was all red. I’m like “dude you ok?”
Then the nephew is like “Yeah I’m good.” haha
And of course everyone got silent. It was a lovely awkward silence. We couldn’t help but laugh. My co-teacher was like “Oh, now it’s quiet.” She looked like she was going to ask me a question and I’m like oh please don’t…this is already weird. Thankfully she didn’t.
Her son missed it all. Which we had to laugh at. The niece was talking a bit more too, but mostly listening.
Then bam! Older sister shows up. Like my co-teacher’s older sister.
Again…WAHHH!?!
And didn’t she look happy?
I’ve never seen three ahjummas so happy in my life.
Co-teacher asked ages. It went with the flow this time. And we all were complaining about how we feel old. hehehe Her son is like a year older and the nephew 3 years. The niece…probably around our age.
Then my co-teacher’s son realized he needed to go. He was checking his phone constantly the closer it got to him needing to leave. He dashed off in a pretty funny matter. His cousin was all “Really?! That’s how you leave?”
That’s when it hit my co-teacher none of us have traded any contact details. The nephew was all for it. All “If you guys get bored…wanna hang out with Koreans or whatever. We can hang out *points to himself and sister*”
He realized that we probably didn’t know each other’s names. Which my co-teacher did introduce way at the beginning but at that point we all totally forgot. Though it seems they knew my name pretty well thanks to my co-teacher talking about me when she went home and such. This is how we ended up in this situation. Yay~
But we exchange numbers with him and his sister. Then we all needed to go. So, I’d say it ended really well. Oddly. Hmmm….
No lie though, they were some awesome people. I wouldn’t mind hanging out with them again.
Even though both the nephew and son was telling me I need to move closer so we can hang out. Just helping Keri make her point stronger.. Tsk Tsk
Me and Keri both said it seems like my co-teacher wanted me for her son and Keri for her nephew. The nephew’s mom seemed like she didn’t care, either would be great with the way she was smiling. The guys…have no clue because they kind of even things out. Not like we care.
I just thought about it while writing this. If anything happens. I need to tread carefully heck Keri too since it’s my former co-worker’s family. If things somehow progress into something I don’t need things going weird or wrong. Then I will be the one who ends up with phone calls and texts about the mess. Then, somehow my job finds out about it. *sighs* One wrong move and things can blow up. I don’t need that happening. No matter how fine they are and the Lord knows those are some fine looking men….things can still look bad for me in the end. Crap~
Also like if you somehow didn’t get it yet. The son was handsome and so was the nephew. They were actually taller than me and didn’t look like sticks. Actually had manliness coming from them. About freaking time~ My goodness gracious lovely guys…oooo lawdie! The niece was super pretty and actually had the “S-line” that Koreans want girls to have to badly. Telling you, great genes man…great genes…
So yeah…as Koreans would say, had an official “meeting" aka blind date.
What the heck?
Mr. Secretary, Co-teacher, and photos?
Ok so first got to school, did my normal stuff. Coffee, set up class, waited until it was time for me to do "English Storytelling" for the entire school. Which was hilarious, the mic wasn't working and I had to start all over. It's cool though. Saw Mr. Secretary but can't do much when you are reading so yeah..
Finished and went to my classroom. Sat there reading some articles, praying my co-teacher wouldn't bother me. Suddenly I hear footsteps and I'm like...that's not a kid.
Only to see Mr. Secretary with a yellow folder. He looked in my class (through the window) I nodded and continued reading. He was going to the music room that's always locked. I don't know why they don't just come up with the keys. Of course pull on the door and it's like...it's locked...it's ALWAYS LOCKED. I just sighed and shook my head. Then he finally started to walk back towards the stairs. But before he passed my second door, he stopped, peeped in and wave going "Hello Aisha." Funny thing about it...it was ADORABLE~ I died on the inside. Like dude seriously? hahaha it was too cute like a little kid. Priceless and made my morning. I'm no better because I waved back like a kid too. We are a mess. I like it. Makes work fun. hahaha
My co-teacher was all "Who's he?" I'm like O.o you don't know who he is? He works in the office, main secretary. Ok, he's over education stuff in the office. She's all "You two are friendly?" I'm like eh...I guess? I don't even know. We say hi to each other and had like three convos oooo. Not like we are buddy buddy or something.
Went through classes, then it was lunch time! Half of it I couldn't eat. So I avoided it on my tray. Sat down and ate only to see Mr. Secretary fly through that lunch line. He has to set the record. Table starts clearing away and he nods with a smile and I nod back. My co-teacher is all <.< >.> and it's like WHAT?! We just nodded to each other. Like she was eyeing us like we did something scandalous like kissing in the teacher's lounge or some mess. I'm like is she still surprised about him speaking to me this morning while basically ignoring her? Bleh...
Anyways, get through all that. I finally escape since she still was eating. YES! Get back to my class after taking a walk. Look at lessons and then was sitting there at the end of the day and get a call.
I had to go take pictures for the year book. Yay~ I wish they would have let me know ahead of time! Bleh...It was funny though because the photographer did something and I giggled like a 5 year old making the vice principal and a sixth grade teacher laugh too. I swear I was like a little kid most of today it seems around staff. It's ok. I'm one of the youngest if not the youngest still. ^_^
Also while writing this I realized something...Mr. Secretary did not come back up with the keys for the music room and no one else did with the folder. So why was he really up there? I know I know...but really? Hmmm....
Now to sleep.
Until next time~!
Co-teacher...kind of hmmmm
Ok so I knew this co-teacher was a bit off since the first day. After the first few days I was wondering how long she would last in general. She has some unique quirks about her.
She can never make a fully correct sentence in English. Seriously, there's always something wrong with them.
She's just kind of weird. I mean I know I'm weird. But not like this. Like I just sit there and look like O.o are you all upstairs? Taking some meds or something?
To go along with number 2, she is always thinking someone might say something about her. HOW?! Hardly anyone knows her. Like seriously, she doesn't talk with them or anything. So totally distanced herself from them. Yet follows me around. Which brings me to...
She follows me around. I go to office she goes, lunch we have to go at the same time, after lunch she follows. WHY?! I can barely go to the bathroom without her right behind.
Asks personal questions really randomly. It's like the most oddest timing.
She doesn't really want to work...or be at school
She doesn't like Yangpyeong. Like come on you knew it was the country side before you took the job. IF you can't adapt to it don't come. What makes it even worse she's from Seoul and goes back every weekend. I wish I could visit home that often.
She's really quiet like me, so she doesn't like noises. Though you know working in an elementary school you are basically going to hear it all 8 hours. Pick your job wisely...
Likes to tell me when sesame isn't in something...when the freaking oil is in it. Like look, I can sniff this mess out. I am highly sensitive to it (if you didn't know look at a past post I made about it). I will know it's in there before most people. Half don't even realize sesame oil is in something because it's in almost everything here. Me on the other hand, can tell first sip/bite. Don't test me. My poor skin and lips have went through enough. If I avoid it long enough it allows me to eat something with it in it but I still have to limit it. It's a pain.
Obviously not understanding I'm allergic to nuts too. STOP giving me things with peanut butter in them. I will NEVER EVER eat them~ I don't wanna die, ok?
Bonus: Today she said that she's sick in the head and doesn't want to come to work after next week. Thanks for letting me know something I kind of figured out~ They posted an ad for a new co-teacher today to start next month through February. Let's see how this goes...
Until next time~
Co-teach classroom
Thoughts? I'm subbing in a first grade co-teach classroom today. The teachers split up the curriculum. One teaches math and the other teaches language arts. I'm here for the LA teacher. Let's see how this is done...
