“You know it, I’m only in it for the Aida fortune,” Hyuuga teased, as if there were any fortune to actually speak of. “Say, if your dad dies, does that mean you’d get the gym? Because I’m sure that’d be worth a lot of money.” He let out a laugh, continuing on their walk. All in all….the date was pretty nice, considering well, he was on it.

“I mean, clearly you only like me for my incredible shooting abilities and amazing warlord figure collection. You know, I bet my collection is worth some money too, how do I know you’re not the one after my money?”

“Were you always this shy?”

“U-uh…” Was he being shy? He supposed he was, it was…pretty hard to talk right now, Hyuuga thought he might implode from all of the nerves building up in his body, his hands clammy throughout the night as a bit of bile threatened the back of his throat. He shouldn’t have been so nervous, this was just Riko, practically a childhood friend, his coach, one of his best friends? So why did he feel like dying all of a sudden?!

“Sorry,” he sighed, letting his head hang back as he spoke. “I…guess I’m a little nervous. That’s pretty lame, right?” He could only hope she found it at least a little endearing, but then again, this was Riko.

“Hm hm, do you think we’d need to play twenty questions like this though, Riko?” Kiyoshi chuckled a little, rubbing his chin a bit in thought after. Even if he said that, there wasn’t much the taller boy knew about the other person aside from her obvious mental fortitude and love for the team- though such traits should’ve also told Kiyoshi more than enough about what kind of person Riko was at the core. He could remember how uncharacteristically clammy his hands had gotten when the subject of dating had come up, not because he didn’t like Riko but because he could admit that he liked Riko.

 “Then again, do you want to play? I have a feeling you’ll be asking some hard to answer questions like this, ne?”
