Featuring: My OCs Akira and Järle (pronounced yar-leigh)
Järle isn't the most romantic person. He just does anything and everything you want him to. Stand up for you because you can't handle confrontation? Done. He loves to fight. Not with you, of course. He enjoys doing what he can to make you happy, which is anything that you want him to do. He wouldn't get you flowers or anything unless you kept glancing at the same ones from time to time. He would get the hint of the subtle behaviors and things that you do. He is quick to pick up on your patterns and behavior, but not as quick as Akira.
Akira would be the type to line your shelter with flowers and do what he could to make things more romantic. Considering it is the stone age and there isn't much to do. He would try his best to do what he could to spice things up with the resources that he has, which may not be much, but he tries his best. Although he doesn't like confrontation and fighting, he would stand up and defend you if you, yourself, couldn't handle it. He doesn't like to see you hurt and with his society being primarily male-dominant, they can face him, man to man, not with you. Unless, of course, you wanted to handle it yourself. He doesn't want to overstep things. He is also one who quickly picks up on your patterns and behaviors.

To show emotions was a weak thing to do. It made you cowardly. It made you less of a tree and more of a human. The Aurochs were widely known for being less humane and less caring for human affairs. They were trees and did everything that they could to be more tree-like. Akira was much different from them, blue-eyed and caring. He did great at hiding himself from his clan. He showed no emotion and spoke very rarely. When you met him, he acted as if he were going to foster with your clan. A common thing for people to do. His clan leader was disgusted that he would go for another clan when the Aurochs and Deep Forest were the best that there were. He didn't need to leave. Instead, you should come to join them. It was hard, but Akira had managed to convince them in some way to let him leave. When he did, he never went back. He stopped partaking in his clan's customs of being tree-like. He rarely spoke of his life in his clan. It was too hard and too painful. The both of you weren't together yet, but many of your clan members were convinced otherwise. Akira stood, emotionless as always as you brought in the fish traps, checking to see if anything had been caught. If there were fish, you'd take them out and reset the trap to be used again. Akira stared off into the distance, picking up the fish that you laid down from time to time.
"Y/N, I can't pretend anymore." He said softly. He didn't want anyone to overhear what was being said, but at the same time, he only slightly hoped that you hadn't heard anything.
"What?" You asked as you stood up, fish in hand, and you looked at him.
"Nothing… forget about it." He said, his voice trailing off. You had only heard the word 'nothing' but not anything else he had said. He was looking away from you, staring at something in the distance.
"What do you mean 'you can't pretend anymore?'"
He lowered his head, and the slightest hint of a small smile was on his face. Since living with your clan, he had let his hair grow long. His black hair shielded him from you. He lifted his head slightly. A small look of worry on his face as his blue eyes stared at you.
"I like you…" He breathed in, closed his eyes for a moment as he raised his head, and looked at you once more. His voice was always quiet when he spoke, almost as if he were afraid that speaking up would cause terrible events to happen. You weren't sure of what exactly had happened in the Auroch Clan, but it was enough to leave Akira traumatized and fearful.
"I like you and I want… to be together… please?" His eyes never left you. He wanted to see any sort of reaction that you may have.
"Yes, I'll be your mate." You said, smiling as you stepped closer to him and wrapped your arms around him.
He breathed out slowly and held you tightly. He always had strong hugs. Almost as if he were holding you together and you would break if he let go.

Akira hated every second he stayed with his clan. The Aurochs, the way they marked themselves, wished to be like the trees. He hated it. He didn't want to partake in it. He feared if he didn't join, they would kill him. He didn't want to run the risk of being exiled from his clan or being murdered. So he did as little as he could. He partook enough that no one bothered him, but it was still a bother to him. The scars that ran down his arms and legs, the scars on his back and stomach. Some on his face and neck. He lay awake many nights, the pain from his scars, the pain from the fresh ones. He didn't show much emotion, he couldn't. It would be a cowardly thing to do, or so his clan believes. He wouldn't hesitate to leave his clan when, or if, he ever found a mate. He would join his mate's clan.
He lay awake, his back to the door as he stared off into nothing in particular. It was still night out. The faint glow from the moon, only slightly, illuminated his shelter. He rolled over onto his back, clenched his teeth, and squeezed his eyes shut. There was a fresh scar on his back and it hurt. He didn't want to cry; he didn't want to show he was in pain, but he was alone. There wasn't anyone there to hear or to judge him. He could cry if he wanted to. He rolled over onto his other side and kept his hands close to his body, lifting his legs slightly as he tried to sort of curl himself up into a ball. He just wanted sleep and the pain to stop.
You had wandered through the forest, trying to track down the injured deer. You had been hunting when something screamed, and you wound up hitting the deer, but the aim had been poor. It was your responsibility to find it and bring it back to camp. You had been alone when you were hunting, but you did send word back to camp that you would be alone trying to track the deer. You came to the edge of the deep forest. You stood there, not wanting to enter it, but at the same time, your deer had gone in there. You looked around. The Auroch people were good at blending into the trees. You wouldn't see them unless they said something or moved, but they never spoke, preferring to do signs instead, becoming more like the trees. Anytime one spoke, they would punish themselves later for everything that was spoken.
Akira stood against the tree, the tree he had chosen, and he saw you approaching. He closed his eyes. It helped him to blend in better. He was blue-eyed, an uncommon trait for those of the Deep Forest. He didn't have any hair, as his clan customs required everyone to shave their heads. You stood a foot away from him, oblivious to the person near you. You looked around before taking a small step further into the deep forest.
He opened his eyes.
"What are you doing here?" He spoke quietly. He didn't want to alert his other clan members to your presence, but you needed to leave quickly before they spotted you.
"What?" You asked as you looked around.
Akira moved away from the tree.
"Keep it down." He said, keeping his voice low, as he looked around before asking again. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I'm looking for my injured deer." You said quietly as you looked around. "What's wrong?" You asked him as you looked at him.
"I don't… I cannot speak it here."
"Then come with me?"
His face revealed nothing. His eyes shifted right and then left before looking back at you.
"I can't, not unless you are asking to be my mate."
"Then let's be mates."
He closed his eyes. He would have smiled if he could. You stayed at the edge of the forest as he searched for your deer and brought it back for you. He wasted no time as he packed up his shelter and headed off with you.
"I can't go back after this."
"Why not?"
"Going home isn't an option. I'm afraid they might hurt me after I've left them. With you being my mate, they may let me live, but we can never go back. At least not without some other people." He followed you every step of the way and made sure that no one followed the both of you.

Warning: implied female reader
Järle loved fighting with people. He had no idea why. Maybe it was the fact that he was an only child. Maybe it was because he didn't have anyone to really interact with. Most of the Sea Clan people had blonde hair. He, unfortunately, did not. He had strawberry-blonde hair. It looked a little on the pink side, a common question he had always been asked, whether his hair was blonde or some sort of red color. It was both. He also had freckles, another thing most members didn't have. Some things that made him different and stand out amongst his family and kin. He was often bullied by the other kids for being different. He hated it, but he hated being seen as weak even more. He wouldn't allow himself to be walked over. He stood his ground, and many knew not to mess with him. They didn't want to run the risk of facing his anger. Not only did he tend to argue, but he also tended to throw hands with people. Not with the women, he knew not to lay hands on a woman. He had seen and heard enough growing up to know not all the men of his time were respectful. Some used the fact that they were stronger and bigger to their advantage. He wasn't going to follow in their footsteps. He would only argue with them, but never lay a hand on them. As for the men, he would throw hands or argue, it didn't matter which. Just as long as they knew not to mess with him and not to hurt anyone. He couldn't stand the men who physically hurt women, they were terrible.
You were born in another clan. Your leader had sent you to foster with the Whales. You didn't know much about them, aside from the fact that they were a Sea Clan, with them you would learn the ways of the Sea. You didn't know much else about them. As you made your way to the clan, you couldn't help but overhear a loud conversation. You stopped in your tracks and looked around, seeing if you could find out exactly where they were at. You couldn't see them, but you softened your steps as you made your way closer to them. You spotted them. A pink-haired man stood arguing with someone else. You weren't sure who, but you stood and you watched as he argued. The person sounded afraid when replying to the pink-haired man. You stood just slightly behind the tree, so you wouldn't be caught as you raised your voice.
"Why don't you just leave them alone?"
The pink-haired man stopped and turned toward the direction in which you may have come. He wasn't sure who said that or where.
"How about minding your own business?"
Silently, the person put their hands to their chest, slightly bowed, and walked away. A "thank you", sort of, for helping them. For saving them.
"Well, if you didn't yell loud enough for the whole forest to hear, maybe I wouldn't be in your business." You shouted back at him. He didn't know you, but you weren't the type to back down, and neither was he.
"This doesn't involve you." He said as he shouted in no particular direction. He still wasn't sure where you were at. "Why are you hiding? Are you scared or something?"
You stepped out from behind the tree and walked closer to him. Your movements showed no sign of fear or a lack of confidence. You weren't afraid of him and you weren't going to let him intimidate you.
"I'm not afraid of you. You were born into the world from a woman. You can just as easily be taken out by one."
"Is that a threat?"
"No, honey, it's a promise."
He blinked. He had never met someone that could stand to shout back at him, someone that wasn't intimidated by him. He looked at you.
"Go ahead, then."
He had no intentions of fighting back, however, he would find it funny to see someone try to take him to the ground. He didn't want to fight you in any way, but he was slightly confused. He liked you. He didn't want to fight or continue the argument, but he may have already gone too far with it.
I adore Akira but I’m going to have to request Järle first 😊 I read in his about the following— ‘He loves to provoke people and engage in fights until he meets you.’— And I just had to have the story behind that 😄 how did they meet? Was it an immediate trust or was it hesitant? Thanks so much!
It depends! It could be during a clan gathering, when you were exploring the forest, or even if you left to meet the Whale Clan. However, you, the reader, want to meet him.
It would be immediate. He sees you and just instantly doesn't want to fight you.
