Mae (Mammy) Two-Shoes
Alright...controversial character, I know. I HEAVILY reworked her to make her appropriate for today's general audience. Hope you guys like it!
-After she was retired in 1952 by Hanna and Barbera, Mae didn’t take it personally. She just knew she needed a different career track and got to work.
-Nowadays, she’s a strong activist and advocate for POC representation in animation…as well as a leading figure amongst those who are branded as “racist” stereotypes in help for finding them new jobs and careers.
-Mae is surprisingly calm and quiet, if a rather jovial Toon at heart. She doesn’t believe in raising her voice or yelling unless absolutely necessary.
-She cannot cook. She’s absolutely a disaster in the kitchen. All the times she was shown having made good food were prepared beforehand.
-Mae’s an expert at knowing what or which jewelry is real or fake. When asked how, she says it’s the way a gem has a certain shine to it.
-Mae has a love for styling the hair and/or fur of other Toons. She'll gladly work out a personal style for Toons that need it.
-Mae is very fond of the Opera. You'll often catch her going to an Opera show or two.
-The name “Mae” was chosen by Mae herself. For years, she struggled with a name, just going by “Mrs. Two Shoes”...until she chose the name ‘Mae’ after the first African American astronaut. She felt the name fit her perfectly--classic, elegant, and versatile. She had always wanted to discard Mammy--it never fit her and only reinforced that she was a "stereotype."
-Mae still keeps in contact with Tom and Jerry via letters and phone calls (she doesn’t use email). The two stars are always happy to hear from her and often send her updates on their newest projects.
-Mae and Coal Black (from Looney Tunes Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs) have a close, almost sisterly relationship. Coal greatly looks up to Mae for her strong and kind personality and is forever grateful to Mae for finding her a new home (which is working as a real estate agent for Toon Town homes).
-She’s been starting to experience signs of fading. Her Toonforce has been weakening and she can actually get rather hurt from slapstick now. With the exception of Coal, she hasn’t told anyone of this, not even Tom or Jerry. She doesn’t want to worry them.

ykzroid-4000 HSC CB Review
Hello again! This is the start of my for-fun reviews.
A long while ago, someone told me that this UTAU was having a limited time distribution. Thanks anon! I like this user’s UTAUs, they’re very cool and they have actual lore (!) This one appealed to me the most from design alone, so let’s see if the voice matches up.

Bio
Nickname: ykzroid, yakazu, CB (Coal Black) Height: 180 cm Weight: 72 kg Body type: Youthful Production date: 2020/12/25 The fourth model in the ykzroid series.
After a lot of trial and error, a model with a different appearance from the previous ykzroids was produced successfully. However, due to the discovery of a serious flaw, all data related to CB was sealed away within a month of its production.
It is capable of slightly changing its appearance. However, this machine seems to be very attached to the appearance of the same series of androids it belongs to. Sticking to one appearance pleases it.
*For convenience, I’ll be calling this UTAU “CB” throughout the review
Official Site
The ykzroid series has a website on Wix. Under the UTAU tab, there are six characters. Coal Black’s page is here. Gunmetal Gray (GG) and Coal Black (CB) are not up for download, but all the other UTAUs there are. They’re all voiced by the same person, so I suppose if there’s a CB-shaped hole in your heart, one of the others might fill it? CB is about 580 MB when unzipped. .Frq files aren’t fully generated.
First Impressions
Coal Black has a really unique voice type. They are androgynous and have a very wide range of G#3-F5. Their pronunciation is very unorthodox and rough, with a nasally tone. It reminds me of how Hiiragi Kirai uses flower, except they just sound that way by default...
Configuration
CB has 3 base pitches, a falsetto append, and two low appends that have more of a chest voice feel. They also have a few VC transitions, vocal fry, and many types of breaths and vowel endings. The breaths tend to be very short and snappy and cut off quick.
The low appends lend a more natural tone to songs in lower range.
Their oto tends to have very large preutterance and overlap, yet the transitions are still tight.
I really wish there were more VC transitions, not even all of the vowels are covered, but they don’t particularly need them since it’s a VCV bank already.
The samples are filled with static and very compressed, which causes the voice to sound gruff and mechanical. I feel it sorta fits the voice type. Also I’m a sucker for robotic UTAUs anyways :p
My recommended flags: H0Y0B0h50
My recommended resamplers: fresamp12, w4utau
Final Thoughts
CB is a huge voicebank with a lot in it. There’s a lot to enjoy here, and a unique character/backstory/voice type to go along with it. I’d recommend them if they were up for download. Please check out Signal Red and Indigo Blue if you have the time!

This lovable goof ball is Pitch’s dad: Coal Black. He’s as sweet, caring and, despite his large frame, as gentle as any man can be.
