Inspiring DIY TINY HOUSE built by HAND | NO PERMIT REQUIRED
This is closer to what I was thinking. That’s more of a fire pit and less of an oven. If the larger half of the semi-circle curved around with a bit of an overhang for rain, that would be it.
great video gets to the point without words, and good music
Gazebo Build Update 11 Apr 2024
I have started designing the gazebo. As I have stated in a previous post, I am going to wait until late May/early June to start actually building since we are in the midst of the rainy season for my area. I have double checked the build regulations for my area. Since it's just a gazebo, there aren't many regulations that I need to worry about, and I don't need a building permit for it.
I tested the soil to see what the clay content is. I had made a test brick out of the soil as well, but I accidentally left it outside and it rained, so I might need to make another one. I will need to experiment a little with the sand to clay ratio over the next couple of months to see what works best. Unfortunately, my soil isn't the 'ideal' mix. I'll just need to mix in some more sand, so that won't be too difficult.
I'm still trying to figure out the pricing for this project. Thankfully I can get a lot of what I'll need from the surrounding area. I'm hoping to keep the total price under $200.
I’m going to make the gazebo out of cob, which is a mix of clay, sand, and straw. I won’t be able to start building for a couple months still because we’re in the midst of the rainy season where I live.
I will be sharing every step of the process.
Transformations
Sometimes things happen so quickly it's hard to remember how things were. That's where I'm at right now. I've been working on so many things, tying up loose ends, repairing all the broken things, and finding new inspiration.
