When I heard there was a French inspired patisserie not far from me with some good reviews and good pedigree in chef and owner Neil McKenzie. Formerly known for French Quarter and St.Germain. I had to try for myself . It was a nice quaint establishment in Keilor Rd in Essendon near the roundabout. Products nicely placed behind a glass display and pleasant service . From first glance a lot of the pastries look quite crisp and a little uninviting apart from by name of each creation. Pistachio/Raspberry croissant, Espresso croissant, almond croissants amongst others . Add to this a price tag for each pastry that attaches itself to the instant thought that it better be good at that price . Each of the croissants I bought had that crisp, cracking shell and pockets of air separated pastry on the inside with lines of filling and flavour. Quite similar tones to #lunecroissant . But most will know that although worldly and most definitely Melbourne recognised that is Lune, I have found they miss the mark on soft, buttery and tasty croissants that I prefer over the crisp shell and too subtle flavours . So far #cobblane and #chezdre rule the roost for croissants for me in a melbourne 🍐🇫🇷🥐☕️😋 #croissant #danish #frenchstyle #artisan #patisserie #crispshell #airycentre #almonds #frosting #pistachio #pear #raspberry #espresso #carbs #protein #sweettooth @parisianpatisserieboulangerie #essendon #keilorrd #dontknowtilyoutry #eat #foodie #foodietribe
