'It's Gonna Be Another Day'
After the 6hours painstaking BELEN SET hunting we did at Divi yesterday and the practicum bombers at the Loved Flock on the evening, it's gonna be another day...
Yea, this is another day - and another tiresome (yet accomplished) day. Lots of event: from morning till late. The 2nd day of the 3rd UST-IDi PHMixture Symposium is a success (I must say), though unfortunately I missed the yesterday's seminar. It's quarter to 9 when I arrived in UST and I saw Kevin still walking his way towards the building while Archie is already at the front waiting for no less than, Mr. Kenneth Cobonpue. It's past nine when he and his secretary arrived. Stepping from the car, he immediately greeted us and even shook hands (we were rendered speechless) then we ushered him towards the AVR. This was my first time meeting him, and he looks kinda different from the pictures on the mag. He seems very down-to-earth with the way he puts up his attire - just mere slippers (it's branded though), bootleg, and that nice polo. The presentation and talk ran for about 1 hour or less, not to mention that OPEN FORUM which moved everyone from their seats especially when the question (asked by WILD) broke out: "Are you single?" He sure has lots of humor and patience and has a cordial way of dealing with students (of course he has, afterall he's a professor in UP Cebu). I don't know why there's a 15minutes autograph signing and picture-taking with him right after the handling of certificate and token of appreciation. "Minsan lang raw kasi." All students and even the professors were STARSTRUCK. The Beato Angelico AVR is full-housed! After the picture-taking stuff, we accompanied him and his secretary Ms. Clarisse at the CFAD Boardroom to have snacks. Well on the way downstairs I asked him if I could have his businesscard, and he said 'Of course!'
The food is good, though I ate just a single toasted bread and pasta (sobrang 'onti lang talaga) and drank COKE (my all-time favorite). It was fun having them as our guests (oh well, our department head isn't around kamusta naman 'yun) and they were entertained by our dear adviser Ms. Trisha, together w/ an industrial prof. Ms. Nobleza. Ms. Bulanadi also ate with us. Not to mention Ms. Sunico who arrived just in time to see Mr. Kenneth (she and Mr. K's mother are colleagues before). In the midst of all the 'pahingi ng drink' and the 'laughter' inside, someone called me. I reallyt thought it was the secretary of Mr. Carlo Tanseco (we also invited him and I just texted her for confirmation), and know what? It's not the secretary of Mr. Tanseco, but from INTERICADD. "Hayy naku, wrong-timing talaga." I went outside to answer the call, and when I went back Mr. Kenneth already distributed his business cards.
It's time for them to leave; I asked him if he has any business card left and he answered "Oh yes, I was looking for you kanina." Another unfortunate thing, 'naubos na pala'. I was a little bit disappointed, so I just said to myself: "Okay lang yan. 3x ka naman nakamayan." (Hahaha!!!). I told him I was planning to have him signed his own business card (aba, lahat sila may autograph ako na lang yata wala ano! even a pic wala ako). He laughed and said I could just contact him through his cell#, he even added: "It's my personal no." (Oh yea, freak out everyone). Their car is already waiting and he said goodbye and thank you to all of us (he even waved to Asia and the rest). Back to the old world after that for we still have Mr. Jie Pambid as our next guest speaker at around 1pm. So we all scurried inside to take a short rest and get going no sooner.
Inside the AVR, L.A. and I were having a conversation when suddenly everything around us started to shake. I thought she was shaking the AVR gang-seat (but then, it popped into my mind how come it will shake off that easy?) and L.A. thought she was just dizzy. Apparently, it was an earthquake - around intensity 5.5 and lasted for almost 18seconds (humina rin naman pero matagal pa din). Nakakaloka! It has been a long time since I experienced such a major earthquake. Noontime almost passed, and Mr. Pambid is about to arrive so we waited for him and ushered him inside. The AVR in the afternoon is not that crowded unlike in the morning session. Anyway, Mr. Jie will have his talk for not less than 45min; he has a meeting in Makati at 3 so he has to go right away. His talk is about the Psychology of Colors. We did not get halfway on his talk for we have to plan our BELEN and it's already the time for our LAR subject.
BELEN Setup is not as easy as you think it is. 'Madugo ito!' We only have a week to setup, then for 3 days mawawala pa for our retreat in Caleruega. We also have our graduation pictorial on the 7th, whole day pa. The opening of the BELEN is on the 12th; I know we can finish it, team cooperation lang and the will to do our project. Then we also have our practicum, by tomorrow evening we have to go again at the Loved Flock to present designs or else babarilin na kami isa-isa ng aming butihing adviser. Tonight I have to work on the designs especially the altar. We presented our design to them but it was slightly disapproved. They told us we have to work for more sketches and then they will just choose which is which. Honestly for the past weeks, I wasn't able to draw a design which I can feel at all. I can't find inspirations and I really can't feel what I'm doing. It's the usual thing na rin, 'pag malapit na and dapat ng tapusin, 'dun ka lang makakagawa talaga ng something na mararamdaman mo.'
I pray that tomorrow will be another day. Goodluck sa ating lahat; 2nd semester is very short especially to my fellow graduating seniors. Everything will be fine for sure. =p Let's all hope for the best!
