Uma had little to no contact with her mother these days and that’s the way she preferred it. Ursula, she called her. Because Ursula had never been a mother to her. Though lately, with the birth of their daughter Ava, subtle pressure was introduced from both sides of the family. Jafar and Ursula wanted to meet their grandchild in person and that could only happen if they brought her to the Isle.
Over Uma’s dead body. Skyping would have to be enough. She wanted their daughter to have nothing whatsoever to do with her grandparents and she knew Jay felt the same.
Ava was fussing after their latest skype session and she wouldn’t calm no matter how Uma rocked her and cooed to her. So she passed their daughter to Jay, knowing he could usually get her to stop crying when Uma couldn’t.
“She’s definitely daddy’s little girl.”
