In 1986, Hasbro released 24 G.I.Joe action figures in Japan. For their release in Japan, they were repackaged in bright cardbacks with descriptions in Japanese. G.I.Joe figures were released with blue cardbacks, while Cobra figures were released with red cardbacks. The figures themselves are exactly like the ones released in the United States, except for a few Japanese exclusive versions of Duke. The most interesting Japanese figure was Zartan - who was released carded without his Swamp Skier. I have teamed up with a local t-shirt maker who is a fan of my work and am introducing screen printed shirts. Several of you have written and asked about these, and now they are a reality.
As many of you know already, I have been meticulous in my attention to detail and quality control on my product development with everything I do, and that will also be the case with these t-shirts.
Every shirt is being made by hand with care, using a dense water-based ink that results in a crisp but soft finish. None of that plastisol garbage. Your significant other will not be afraid to cuddle up to you for fear of having their skin stuck to your shirt. :P I will likely be screen printing most of the shirts myself at a local maker’s studio with their facilities, so you can be sure of ongoing quality checks. Bottomline: I am trying to give you guys a really great shirt.
