Based on what I’ve seen / learned of St. John, I don’t see a connection between he and Esfir as being too terribly close in their present incarnations. What I DO see is it being a lot of either potential fun or chaos. She can be quite the figure of chaos and meeting fellow people on board for chaos is usually a pretty quick way to get her involved. That said, he does kill people and she does have a problem with that.  Esfir is very proud of humans as a whole and thinks of them as her younger cousins or baby siblings. 

That said, I think it’s entirely possible they could have met when she was younger, in a past life, and had a blast. She doesn’t always carry her morals from life to life, so there could have even been a previous version that palled around with him! Which would make things all the more interesting if they met again in current forms and were like “…… not as much fun as I remember >:E”
