I'm a muddling novice. I've never played around with a muddler before, but as I'm starting to grow my own herbs, I wanted a way to create fresh fruit and herb syrups and sodas.

I used this the other night to make a mint syrup. The muddler fit comfortably in my hand, and it seemed to do a good job crushing the mint leaves into the sugar. The syrup came out strong and flavorful. The crushed leaves that stuck to the muddler head rinsed off easily as I added the water to the sugar/mint mixture.

I haven't used the mixing spoon yet, but it seems well-constructed and not flimsy.
