football X GHOSTS headcanons

this is so not serious but this was a discussion my boyfriend and i had so here is our GHOSTS draft 2025 - includes personal/shared headcanons of all the boo crew !! grim, torch, neptune as well because i've been working on headcanons for those guys

the GHOSTS have a fantasy football league every year as team bonding but it's the time of year where they get competitive. the teasing and jokes increase, dreams are shattered. ajax has won the most seasons so far. they put money in for their prize pool.

philly rorke is my headcanon so the thought of him just saying "go birds dickhead" at like 7 in the morning unprompted is just funny to me. crashes out if the eagles win, crashes out if they lose. that man is COMMITTED. coaches from the couch as if the philadelphia eagles can hear him from all the way across the globe.

keegan as a lions fan. i headcanon him being from detroit, and he just stays loyal to his hometown team. whatever happens, happens - he's just there and lions are there too. played baseball when he was younger, more partial to that sport instead.

merrick unfortunately has been used to being let down in his life because he grew up a cowboys fan and is still a cowboys fan. poor man wants to have hope but knows that he shouldn't. knows he should just switch teams but he can't. typically comes second place in the fantasy league.

ajax i draft as a kansas city chiefs fan. enjoys the feeling of winning, so unbothered by all the shit his team gets every year, everyone's just MAD. merrick envies his team for being god's favorite. pays attention to the players, and is very good at analyzing statistics. more often right about who wins or not compared to the others.

hesh is a forty-niners fan. barks at the as if he were at the game, niners fans have a lot of heart. aware that everyone else has niners fatigue. buys riley a jersey and makes him walk right in front of elias every time the niners play. he's a very energetic hype man, he likes watching games with friends and making game day a social event.

logan is more or less indifferent, he's more of a baseball fan - go padres. if asked though, he'd say his favorite team is the niners as well, to match hesh. has made some of the most insane picks in the GHOSTS annual fantasy football league and it almost always ends up working in his favor.

elias is a new england patriots fan. always yapping about them good old days. hoped his boys would follow but as hesh and logan grew up they watched the flop happen in real time. can't sit and watch he has to stand in front of the TV with his hands behind his back in dad stance™️ mode. also sideline coaches alongside rorke.

kick is hopeful that the buffalo bills can make it to the super bowl. slowly jaded over time about their taskforce league because every year without fail, one or two of his picks get injured and it's now known in the team as 'kick's curse'. his team name this year is 'serving punt' and the names have usually been trend related.

grim is that one guy who is constantly like "could've gone pro if it weren't for the damn knee", but here he is in a special ops unit. his team of choice is the baltimore ravens. they're dependable but somehow slip up towards the end and grim's like that's life, kids. game day with him can get intense especially if rorke is watching with him,

torch collects football cards, jerseys, anything he can get his hands on. it's what makes him happy. huge fan of the denver broncos. has a son that plays for college football because his passion was infectious, carries season passes for his son's school. won't stop yapping about how his boy is the best wide receiver the league has yet to see.

he's the guy that's very nonchalant about football, neptune just roots for his hometown team - carolina panthers. he'll join in on the watch parties and activities, but doesn't really get too invested in the game. honestly just there for the food and vibes. the team asks him to make the dips for game day though that man can COOK.
