April Fools Day 2025 superhero Au lore notes CBNEL
A group of terrorists experienced a meteoric rise soon after they were formed. A group of people came together after they experienced something in their lives that made them feel inferior to others. They speak to a new generation of people who are tired of all these corporate heroes who only stand for corporate interests.
C - The Leader
Shiho Hinomori was the son of a famous musician and the younger brother of a popular idol, growing up in the shadow of those who were much more successful than him in the same dream. His frustrations with himself and his inability to change led him to distance himself from his friends, hoping that they would be protected from his bullies. He secretly dreamed of creating a world where he could stand next to his friends and play music alongside them. One night, while he was walking home, he was attacked by his bullies. The CODA chose this moment to grant him the power of foresight. He managed to escape, causing his attackers grievous injuries. His attackers went to the authorities and spun the story to make it seem like Shiho was the aggressor. He ran away to avoid jail, vowing to burn the world to the ground
He put CBNEL together, serving as their leader and strategist with the help of his foresight. He gives the group their marching orders and monitors from the shadows.
B - The Muscle
Kohane Azusawa began her life as a very timid girl. She suffered from social anxiety and lived her life ruled by fear. One day, she ends up crossing through Vivid Street and witnesses An Shiraishi, Akito Shinonome, and Toya Aoyagi training to surpass RADER. She was inspired to surpass RADER right alongside them, becoming Hamster Justice and training to become an indi Hero alongside her team. However, tragedy struck when a villain revealed that An's Aunt Nagi died of Pancreatic Cancer. In a super-powered crash out, An ended up razing the entire city to the ground, and injured Kohane and Akito in the process. Vivid Bad Squad broke up after this. Toya turned to Devoted Evil, Akito was forced to join the Zoo Rangers, and Kohane was left alone with a cybernetic body powered by the CODA.
Angry, alone, and cursing An for abandoning her, Shiho found Kohane at the end of her rope. He offered her a spot in his team, promising to give her the chance to get her vengeance against An.
N - The Intelligence Officer
Nene Kusanagi was living a life devoid of color when she found Kohane and Len. She had always dreamed of performing on stage just like her idol, Yūka Kazamatsuri, and those dreams called out to the CODA. In the middle of her big performance, she manifested her ability to communicate telepathically with animals and wasn't able to perform. After this, her troupe abandoned her, and she was blacklisted from other groups. She began to resent the CODA and vowed to find a way to destroy it and all superpowers.
She was found by B during one of her missions, and she begged to be let in. She had no dream of her own, and Nene was willing to throw her life into Shiho's hands
E - the Propagandist
Ena Shinonome is the only member of the group who wasn't blessed by the CODA. She had wanted to become an artist just like her father, until that same man crushed her dreams. She lashed out in frustration, killing her father before going on the run. She spent a lot of time honing her skills until she became a master of all weapons, turning her victims' bodies into her paintings.
She eventually ran into C, who took an interest in her and how she built herself into a feared serial killer with nothing but her spite. He invited her to join his crew, promising her an audience for her art, one that wouldn't turn away.
L - The Lost One
Len Kagamine is a young boy who was separated from his sister after she was taken by The Otori Group. He has been searching for her ever since, given the power to help others control their powers. He was one of the first people that Shiho picked up. Shiho promised to protect him and help him find Rin. The entire team is very protective of him.
Random Notes:
Ena isn't aware that Akito is one of the Otori-sponsored Zoo Rangers, but Akito is aware she's E.
Nene and Rui were neighbors before the two of them had their villain origin stories.
I want to personally thank Colorful Palette and Sega for giving Vivid Lamb An the perfect backstory so that everyone has beef with her.
I forgot to mention this with Honami, but Leo/Need were all still childhood friends
April Fools Day 2025 Superhero au lore head cannons: Fussy Eaters

The only surviving members of the EATER drug trials, the Picky Eaters are a group of people brought together by their desire to destroy the CODA. What was supposed to be a food additive to increase the dish's nutritional value became a drug that increases the user's appetite. An accident in the lab led to the EATER patients being exposed to the radiation from the CODA, transforming them into ghoulish hungry creatures. Those who survived the exposure escaped and joined together. They figured that if they destroyed the CODA, they would all become normal again.
They all live at Kanade's apartment and pool their money to pay bills.
Instant Boss (The inspiration):
Kanade started her life out as a normal girl with an extraordinary gift. Her mother died when she was young, leaving her and her father to figure out how to pick up the pieces. He dove into his work as a free-lance composer while she struggled to replace her mom while trying to live as Kanade. It wasn't the most functional way of life, but she was comfortable and loved. Whenever she had free time, she would write soft and kind music and post it under the name K. For Kanade, this life was enough. However, everything changed when her father submitted one of Kanade's compositions into a contest. He worked himself to death trying to match Kanade's natural gift, leaving her heart broken and all alone.
With no surviving family, crippling grief and guilt, and bills piling up faster than her ad revenue could pay, Kanade came across an ad on Instagram. They needed volunteers for a new drug trial. Kanade saw the money offered as a secondary reward. If she could give her life to help people, maybe she could atone for what she did to her father. Maybe this would make up for taking music away from him. She was instead enrolled as a test subject in the EATER trials, her poor health making her the perfect candidate to test the dietary supplement. When the EATER lab was contaminated with CODA energy, Kanade's strong desire to make up for her sins helped her survive the interaction between the radiation and the medication. This interaction left her with a strength, speed, and agility that she shouldn't have with her constitution as well as with the ability to harden her blood, muscle, and skin into an indestructible armor , but these abilities came with an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
She and the other EATER survivors escaped and regrouped at Kanade's old apartment. They came to the decision that the only way to free themselves from this hell was to destroy the CODA and all it's fragments, and to do this they would need help. Kanade used her K channel to reach other villains, creating an alliance led by her and C. It wasn't like she would be able to save anyone like this, so why not burn the world down to save the Picky Eaters?
Bread Eater (The Dreamer):
Ichika Hoshino became a lost girl when her friendship group crumbled. Shiho disappeared, Honami became distant, and her parents refused to let her move to the same city that Saki's hospital was in. She became desperate to find a way to reunite her friends, but didn't have the courage to navigate Middle School politics. It felt like the only thing she had was Hatsune Miku. She came across an ad on the street for an Otori drug trial one day. She remembered hearing Tsukasa talk about how Otori was searching for a cure for Saki's illness. Maybe this was the answer she'd been searching for this entire time.
Instead of being enrolled in the drug trials to save Saki, Ichika was enrolled into the EATER program. She hated every minute of it. The supplement made yakisoba buns taste horrible, and the gritty texture drove her mad. She was eagerly counting down the days until she could leave the EATER trials and sign up to help Saki. However, she never got the chance. One of the experiments that this facility was running was integrating a fragment of the CODA into technology. The casing holding the fragment was damaged one day, causing an explosion that exposed the entire facility to CODA energy. The interaction between the EATER drug and the CODA mutated Ichika, making her faster and more agile than before and giving her the ability to create wings and feather projectiles out of any liquid. Though she didn't realize it at the time, her desire to reunite with her childhood friends However, the trade off for these extraordinary powers was an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
After she escaped from the destroyed lab, Ichika lived her life on the lamb. She couldn't go home because of her hunger, but she didn't have anywhere else to stay. while she was in hiding, a new Miku album came out, and she couldn't resist. She went to the CD shop she used to frequent when she was still a "normal" girl and ran into a face she remembered from her time in the EATER program. Kanade recognized her too, and invited her to live with her, Rui, and Rin. It was Ichika's idea to rally the villains together in the hopes of destroying the CODA after she found out that Honami and Shiho were villains too.
Death Veggie (The Inventor)
Rui Kamishiro dreamed of being a hero when he was a child, hoping to one day use his robots to save people the way he saw on TV. He spent his entire childhood improving his craft, creating robots that he would then take on "missions". These missions amounted to him roaming around his neighborhood while looking for crime. Sometimes he was accompanied by Nene, but most of the time he was alone. One day while he was out on "patrol" he ran across an actual crime, and an old vigilante fighting a villain. He tried to help her out, only to end up injuring civilians and the vigilante in the process with his machines. He was arrested afterwards and sentenced to be an Otori test subject. This is what led to him joining the EATER trials.
Rui despised the EATER supplement. It made everything he ate taste like those cucumbers and squash he so hated. He was miserable, but punishment wasn't meant to be fun, was it? He was stuck counting down the days until his sentence was over. But Rui Kamishiro was not a patient man. He slowly began to gain favor with the scientists, offering to help them with their other projects. Eventually, they let him into the lab with the CODA containment device, where he tampered with it. The device exploded, exposing everyone in the building to CODA radiation. the meteor recognized Rui's desire to become a hero and tried to grant him power. He was given strength and endurance far beyond what should be possible for a normal human and the power to manifest tentacles made from the muscle and blood of those he was forced to consume.
He escaped from the facility and began hunting down everyone who survived. He blames himself for what happened, for ruining the lives of everyone who survived, and promised himself that he would find a way to fix it. it was through his research on the CODA while part of the EATER project that he came to the conclusion that if he were to destroy the CODA in its entirety, then their powers would all vanish and they'd be normal again. He is in a relationship with Tsukasa, Emu, and Nene.
Picky:
She and her brother Len were orphans who were struggling to live on their own without their parents. Their mother had left Rin with the order to protect her little brother, so she chose to sign up for Otori testing, dictating that all the money is sent to Len. She would ensure that her brother had a good life, even if that meant that she suffered. That was how she ended up exposed to CODA energy. She was granted a scorpion tail in exchange for consuming human flesh. She followed Kanade when they all broke out, and the older promised to help her reunite with Len.

from here on out, they'll be called the "Picky Eaters" for my own sanity
I like the idea that they use Kanade's apartment as their base of operations.

April Fool's Day 2025 superhero au lore: Devoted evil notes
A group of villains fed up with their situations joined together to cause mayhem. However, they’re terrible at it and end up being more heroic than anything. They’re known as neighborhood-level heroes.
Yes-Man - "Accept any task given to you. Say yes to everything."
Toya Aoyagi is the leader of the group and their founder. He was born to a career hero and was pushed to join his father and brothers in their agency. However, he secretly desired to have the freedom to choose his own path in life. This desire drew the CODA's attention, and it granted him the power to manipulate sound. However, this ability would end up harming his body and destroying his bone integrity. His father's lack of care for his health is what eventually led to Toya running away. While he was working as an Independent Hero, he teamed up with Akito, An, and Kohane to surpass RADER as Vivid Street's heroes. They were making progress until An found out that her aunt had died from Pancreatic Cancer and destroyed the city. In the blast, Akito and Kohane were injured. This effectively ended Vivid Bad Squad as they all went their separate ways.
Toya put together Devoted Evil to cope with the loss. He desires to be the opposite of both what he was while part of Vivid Bad Squad and also what his father wanted him to become.
Break Time - "What's the point of working hard when that hard work doesn't pay off?"
TV personality by day and super-powered miscreant by night, Airi Momoi is the group’s front person. She wanted to be an idol, and has wanted this since she was a child. She put her whole heart into becoming an idol and managed to claw her way into QT, becoming the idol Happy Everyday. However, her agency kept putting her on variety shows because they lacked faith in her talents. Despite this, she still dreamed of being an idol, and the CODA granted her the power to control light in response to her desires.
Honami invited her to join the group after she heard Airi's struggles. She quickly became friends with Kaito, recognizing him from her close relationship with his sister Shizuku.
Mealmonger - "Reject dieting, indulge in your cravings."
Honami is a girl who was very heavily bullied in middle school, leading her to isolate herself from her friends to protect them. She began to go along with what everyone else around her wanted, trying to protect herself from being bullied. She lost sight of who she was before everything, simply going along with what everyone else wanted and forsaking what she wanted. Deep down, even unbeknownst to her, she craved the closeness with her friends she had once had. This desire granted her the ability to control people's minds through her cooking.
One day, while she was walking through the city, she came across Kaito and Toya singing on a street corner. She asked to join them and began to use the group as a way to let off steam when the pressures of her daily life became too much.

Kaito Hinomori is the adopted sibling of Shiho and Shizuku Hinomori, being raised as Shizuku's twin. They suffer from horrible social anxiety and desire to make friends and find community. The CODA heard this desire and granted them the ability to swap bodies with whoever they touch. After they and Shizuku accidentally discovered this, they ran away to keep their siblings safe.
They currently live in an apartment that also doubles as the Devoted Evil's Hideout while also working at the Crase cafe. They found Toya after they were playing guitar on the street corner, and Toya asked to sing.

Leo/Need KAITO is Shizuku and Shiho's brother because I said so.
I liked the idea of this group being like the Amebo boys from the Powerpuff Girls, where they try their best to be evil, but are at most a nuisance
