“Cyanide is definitely not a planet, and neither is the Moon!”
He proceeds to hang a giant poster of the Solar System on the wall. It comes with children-friendly definitions. It’s for children, like Sherlock. In the far, completely irrelevant background, Jiraiya demolishes an oreo cake by himself. hap birf. This is irrelevant and unimportant.
Hey, as someone who's been a fan since probably '08, I never want to lose the faith, but... I'm guessing we're not going to get another update to Code Moon/Code Twilight (for at least a bit longer), are we? If you still remember anything from your outlines or plans that you'd ever want to share, just letting you know there's at least one person who would be interested in hearing them.
Hi anon!
Wow! This is definitely a blast from the past. I didn't think anyone remembered that one. Also, '08 feels so long ago! 😫
Hm...oof...okay, so I remember the broad strokes, but if there's someone/something you want to know, just let me know, okay?
I'm sorry if none of this makes sense. I'm going off of memories and vibes after reading the last two to three chapters of Code Twilight:
(Putting this under a break because of some reference to assault of minors, forced pregnant minors, and scientists behaving very unethically. Started this series in middle school and high school. I unfortunately thought being a good writer meant you had to be very dark and angsty. Honestly, a lot of the backstory of Code Twilight is what I would now call "Dead Dove/Don't Eat", part of the reason - along with the ridiculous amounts of side characters I couldn't keep up with, along with their plotlines- that I very quickly lost interest in the direction I was taking the story.)
Musa and Cascada were never entirely AIs. They were Hopper's biological daughters from an affair that he essentially tried to hide from his wife by doing experiments on them that turned them into half-human, half-AI beings. Elena (Aelita's mom) found out and was very disappointed in her husband.
Leon, who William was cloned from (I cannot even remember how that even happened, so sorry if it was never explained), was some unfortunate kid who would have died on the streets, starving, I believe, so that's how he got digitized. He was one of the oldest subjects that managed to successfully be fused with his AI half and not die.
Now, this part gets a little fuzzy, and I can't remember if this is how I wrote it in the story or not, but during the years before Hopper sent himself and his family into hiding, Musa and Cascada were transported back and forth between the initial Lyoko that was created and the real world. Most of their memories that they remember are when they were on the prototype of Lyoko. However, when they were in the real world they experienced a lot of messed up experimentations by Hopper and the other scientists of Project Carthage. Without going into detail, they wanted to see if Cascada and Musa could basically be "Eves" and create a new species of super-human AI people. But if there's an Eve, there has to be an Adam right? Leon was Cascada's and Emmett (I forgot what his code name was) was Musa's.
Don't worry, the scientists weren't complete monsters (this one and only time) and didn't force the boys on the girls but both Musa and Cascada did have to carry their babies which lead to essentially major PTSD for both girls to the point where they made themselves forget because the trauma was too much.
Something that the scientists didn't expect was that even though neither of pairs did the actual "deed," there was a weird bond created between each pair. Cascada and Leon were already close so though being pregnant against her will was traumatic, it made their relationship stronger. Musa, unfortunately, never felt fully comfortable with Emmett despite him being in the same situation as her. At some point you would find out that during whatever magic hand wavey science process that happened, there was a virus in the code that the scientist overlooked when they were turning Emmett into an AI hybrid. That virus would then be the very same virus that would later infect Leon leading to the creation of Xana (if I remember what happened in my first story, Code Moon correctly). Basically, Emmett was super possessive and dark and thought Musa belonged to him because of the baby Musa was forced to carry.
Speaking of babies, those Musa's baby is Terran/Void and Cascada's baby is Nyx (can't remember if I gave her another name). Though Hopper gained enough sense to get Musa, Cascada, Leon, away when we left Project Carthage, he left behind these AI babies and Emmett. Again, can't remember if Emmett continued to work for the remaining scientist before killing them off or something else, but Emmett essentially raised Terran and Nyx as assassins for hire while also searching for his "mate".
Terran and Nyx both have mommy issues but in different ways. Terran has always been fascinated with Musa and wanted to meet her and maybe become a family again. It kind of turns into an obsession, though, that for a while Emmett used to get Terran to do what he wanted him to do.
Also, not sure if I ever said this or not but Terran isn't actually blind, he just sees things in infrared/code.
Nyx, on the other hand, HATES Cascada for leaving her (though it was obviously out of her control) and swears that if she ever meets her, she would kill her and everyone she loves. Nyx doesn't like her "uncle" Emmett, but stays around because there's nowhere else for her to go.
....yeah, everyone in this story has TRAUMA.
The one shining light for Terran was after he got hurt after an assassination attempt of one of the few remaining scientists of Project Carthage, he met Sitera , a mute and abused girl who finds him and takes care of his wounds. This is the first time anyone has shown him kindness. As Sitera grows up Terran essentially becomes her guardian angel, managing to get her out of her abusive house and providing her with a safe place to live. despite very rarely going to see her, or if he does, he makes sure she's asleep.
(She wasn't asleep.)
PLOT TWIST, Siterra is an AI hybrid as well. She was the last generation of hybrids created before the scientists either went into hiding and/or killed by Emmett. Her Project Title was O.R.A.C.L.E.
Again, I know the science is not sciencing but essentially, the scientist who created Siterra/Oracle was trying to create an AI hybrid that could "change fate" aka time. However, at some point during the project, the scientist grew a conscience, snuck Siterra out of the Program and left her with an orphanage/foster care all before ever really knowing if her powers worked or not.
Also, since all these poor kids were being thrown back and forth between the Lyoko prototype and the read world, they obviously aged a bit slower than they would if they were on the real world. That's why Aelita was still a teen after staying on Lyoko despite her probably have been in her late 20s/early 30s if she hadn't been hiding in the supercomputer for so long.
Anyway, getting back to the last chapter of Code Twilight, Musa and Cascada are unconscious because of some backdoor programming that Emmett was able to do on their AI side. Essentially, he's trying to connect them to a super tower in his own version of Lyoko to separate their human sides from their AI sides because that's apparently what he did, resulting in him killing what was left of his human side. (Think Dan Phantom killing his human side so that he was full ghost from Danny Phantom if you saw that episode). Once Emmett had their human sides killed, he planned to wipe out the humans and start the world over again with a planet of AI hybrids.
The Lyoko gang and their parents (the majority of whom were connected to Project Carthage in some way though not as scientists) essentially fight against Emmet's first wave of attacks to get Cascada and Musa to the cabin where Hopper and his family used to live and where he has a super computer hidden. The idea is that if they can get to the super computer, they can eradicate the bug Emmett has givne Musa and Cascada and find a way to infect Emmett with a virus that Hopper created to stop him and end the threat that Emmett, Terran, and Nyx pose.
Obviously, things do not go well. At some point Terran switches sides because he doesn't want to hurt Musa and her friends and also because he wants to run away with Siterra.
I honestly don't remember how I thought I would get to this point, but basically, the rest of the gang is fighting monsters out in the real world while Odd and William take Cascada and Musa to their towers in the supercomputer.
After getting Musa and Cascada to the supercomputer and into one of the towers on Lyoko, they realize it was a trap all along. Emmett wanted them to get to the supercomputer because he needed them to be in a tower connected to it for the bug he planted in them to start removing their human side.
Odd and William find themselves in the past on the day that Hopper and Elena (Aelita's mom) break the girls out of Project Carthage before going into hiding. (This is actually because of Siterra "awakening her powers")
In the past, Odd and William not only helped a younger Jim (their gym coach in the present but who in the past was a military soldier/spy who hated what he saw happening to the kids) to get Hopper and his family safe, but they also changed time by creating an explosion that killed many of the scientist and freed their test subjects, stopping Emmett and stopping him from spreading the Xana virus to Leon. More science magic happens and Odd finds himself alone in a tower. Siterra, now in all her full Oracle power is there and no longer mute. She basically explains to Odd that the past has been changed the present he's now in has changed as well with him probably being the only person to remember. William isn't there because he was a clone and was only created to protect Musa and Cascada from the Xana infected Leon, but Xana doesn't exist in this world.
Odd is obviously sad because things are different and he doesn't know if in this new present if Ulrich, Yumi, Jeremy, and him are still friends. William never existed. And he doesn't know what happened to Hopper and his family.
When he eventually leaves the supercomputer, he finds himself back at the factory. He returns to school, surprised to find that though Yumi, Ulrich, and Jeremy don't remember Lyoko they are still a tight group of friends despite the unlikely odds.
Again, I can't remember exactly how I planned it, but I do remember there being two potential options for the end.
Option 1: On the way to class, Odd runs into someone. They both start apologizing, and Odd is shocked to see that the person he ran into is Musa. She introduces herself and her sisters, Aelita and Cascada, as well as Leon, Cascada's boyfriend (who in this timeline was adopted by Jim once they came out of hiding).
After finally snapping out of his shock, Odd, believing he's the only one who remembers anything from the past is surprised when Musa calls him "Egen" (the name I gave him for some reason) with so much warmth and love indicating that she either remembers the life they had in the other timeline or she remembers him from when he and William were in the past and saved her and the other research subjects.
Essentially, Hopper and his family laid low and still used Lyoko as a hiding place for a few years. After some time, though, he and Elena both felt it was safe to come out of hiding and start living life again.
In this timeline, Terran, Siterra, and Nyx are still alive but they all had a much better upbringing and were adopted and raised by loving families.
Option 2: On his way to class, Odd runs into someone and it's a boy with a walking stick who he immediately realizes is Terran. A much older adult Musa comes around the corner and after fussing over Terran apologizes to Odd. Odd is shocked and barely gets any words out before Musa and Terran excuse themselves because they have to meet with the principal about Terran possibly going to school there. Odd watches them leave, hearing Terran asking about whether he could invite his best friend Siterra to his aunt and uncle's anniversary party. Later in his dorm room realizing Odd realizes that Musa had called him "Egen" when she had apologized. Odd is heartbroken but happy that Musa is alive and seems to be happy.
In this option, the Hoppers stayed low in the human world and aged as they were supposed to. I can't remember the details, but in this one, Musa and Cascada decide to raise their kids, Terran and Nyx. Aelita also ages as well and is working on a second degree in computer science or something like that. In this option, Elena and Hopper get a divorce but still co-parent.
Anyway, that's what I remember anon. I'm so, so sorry if none of that made sense. Again, one of the big reasons is that there were a lot of plot holes in this story, and I wrote myself into a corner. Also, I was realizing I didn't like how dark I was making the story. I'm all for a bit of angst, but this story had much more in it than I would write now.
Let me know if you have any more questions and I hope this made sense, spelling/grammar issues and all! 😅🤣
