Day 1: [Protea Cynaroides] KUDO SHINICHI x EDOGAWA CONAN DAY
It happened so fast. Memories flashed before her eyes, Bailey and herself at the fair, laughing and being happy. Bailey won her first toy, and even gave it to Shane. After all they’d both been through it was nice to finally be able to just have fun and laugh with one another. But then it was gone. There was just screams, and explosions. Shane had been dazed as to what happened, wondering why Bailey had pushed her out of the way. She seemed fine after it happened. Shane had thanked her for saving her life, Bailey had told her it was nothing, in the shy way that Bailey talked, but then she started to get worse. Shane had come out of it with bruised ribs, she didn’t know what was wrong with Bailey, but she gently laid her on the group, leaving her head to lay in her lap, as a hand ran through her hair. Her glasses were broken and crooked now, but Shane left them on her face, knowing Bailey needed them to see. Shane didn’t care about anyone in that moment, her best friend since as long as Shane could remember, was slowly losing her light, and Shane didn’t know how to help her. She watched the light leave Bailey’s eyes, a cry of pain leaving Shane’s lips as she continued to beg for her to come back to her, begged for her to keep fighting, that she had something to fight for. But she knew Bailey didn’t, after having the indepth talk that they did, but she had Shane, and Shane had her.
Though not now, Bailey was taken away from her, because she saved Shane’s life. Her forehead was resting on Bailey’s as she continued to beg her to come back to her, pleaded with her to hear her, to just squeeze her hand, but it never came. Her chest stopped rising, her lips stayed parted, blue eyes with no emotions stared up at the sky, and all Shane could do was hold her and cry, cry for her friend who never made any friends other than herself, cried for the woman who went through hell and still ended up as kind and caring, and sincere. Cried for her best friend, who probably didn’t expect to live this long, and yet still managed to make Shane herself happy.”You’ll, always be missed by me.” She whispers trembling lips kissing her friend’s forehead. But she wasn’t leaving her, she wouldn’t leave her alone. Bailey had been alone most of her life, and Shane wasn’t going to leave her alone now.
“I said I’m fine,” Peyton spat as she pushed off the ground, clearly relying heavily on the object she was leaning against. “See? Fine.”
