Tesla hadn’t been in the Bunker long, but she was already going stir crazy. Granted, when she had a choice, she mostly stayed at home, in her room, with her bombs, but that was different than feeling tethered and trapped as she did now. Her fingers ran over the Bacon Bomb Sampler tucked into the pocket of her sweatshirt. The smooth curve on the edges were comforting as she tapped her feet, waiting for the elevator that would bring her to the roof — one of the only places where she felt a little freer, a little less watched in this building.
A muted ding indicated the arrival of the elevator and as she stepped in, she pulled out her sampler, peering down at the haphazard label she stuck on all of them, trying to find out which one she had ended up grabbing. Her lips tilted up at the end, a wry smile forming: it was her trusty flammable compound, good for innocuous things like fireworks, but when mixed with other solutions could make a much bigger explosion.
She wasn’t entirely sure what she was going to do up there yet, maybe she’d mess around in the cockpit of a jet, if she could get in, climb on the wings of a plane, if she couldn’t, or maybe just lay on the edge of the helicopter pad. Anything as long as she could feel some wind on her face and, finally, be alone for one moment. As the elevator doors opened up again, her eyes immediately zoomed in on a jet to the left, deciding to work down her list in that order. Not bothering to look around, she quickly crossed the roof. She was about to hike a foot up, when she spotted something out of the edge of her vision — actually, not something, someone — and she froze.
