‘are you satisfied with your care?’
“No--” Minwoo chokes on the word, tears blurring his vision as he stares helplessly at Youngmin’s smile. He knows that smile, the sad, downward curl to it, the knowledge that there’s no going back, not from this. This is the end, their end. This is goodbye, whether Minwoo likes it or not.
“Hyung, no!”
Minwoo scrubs an arm over his eyes, reaching for Youngmin with the other. But the elder twin is just out of reach, as if knowing that if Minwoo manages to grab him, he’ll never let go. “Hyung, please! We need you! I need you! What are we going to do without you?”
Youngmin’s outline is blurry, but his voice comes clear and strong. “You’ll be just fine, Minwoo. You all will. I know you will. It’s time to be strong now.” A hand smooths over his cheek, but by the time Minwoo thinks to grab for it, it’s gone. Youngmin is gone. He’s all alone when the tears come openly, streaking pale cheeks.
Eventually, the blast comes. And Minwoo knows -- Youngmin is gone.
