The sheer curtains of the hotel room hardly did anything to keep the room dark past sunrise, and Natasha had found herself stirring as the sun made its way across the sky. So much for sleeping in a little, though she decided to ease into the day and keep the morning lazy as she rolled over and curled up against (melted into, really) the warm body beside her. The day before had been busy, full of travel and arrangements related to their stay and to the ceremony they were throwing together. The hotel had been first and foremost, something on the higher end of mid-grade because they deserved at least that, and after that she’d sent Clint out to take care of finding a suit for himself while she went dress shopping. He could wait to see her dress until the day of - Natasha didn’t think she’d be able to keep it from him until the ceremony - because better safe than sorry.
She’d teased another superstitious tradition, playfully threatening to banish him to the couch for the night before their wedding, but the teasing objection hadn’t lasted long at all.
She ducked in to press a kiss to his neck, fingers reaching out to lightly trace and circle his shoulder and back. “We’ve gotta get moving soon,” she murmured with a sigh as she re-settled against her pillow. “Our appointment is in a few hours.” Making that had been her first order of business; she’d found a cozy chapel that would be able to perform the ceremony, and decided upon her first steps inside that it would be perfect. “Schedule’s pretty tight,” what with the other Black Widow situation taking up the bulk of their trip, “but I made sure to leave today free.” Because they deserved that, deserved some time for themselves after three goddamn years. “At least there’s no hunting for you this morning.” A lopsided smirk curved full lips, and she ducked in to kiss his neck again. “I’m sure your back is elated."
