If you like books sort of based on historical stuff 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett is really good. It's surprisingly a very humorous, enjoyable story of the African-American maids in the South of America, that doesn't really lose the seriousness of what happened. And if you like the book, the movie adaptation is also pretty great :)
