beginner coding courses never spend enough time on installation troubleshooting.

like i've spent hours and hours trying to get the environment set up where are the beginner walkthroughs??? the first lesson explains what coding is? but here i am still stuck on getting java to even install correctly??????

sorry if this has already been asked before but how do we unlock sam's pov scene?

Ah! For those who can't find the choice that triggers the POV scene, details are under the cut.

If you can find the choice but it's greyed out for you, it's because you need >9 romantic relationship points with Sam.

This 'check' is meant to filter out readers who've absolutely not pursued anything romantic with Sam at all

It's a rather low bar and should allow most readers who've expressed any romantic interest in Sam to view the scene.

I've also put some elaboration on how I'll be transitioning from a "Flirt" relationship system to a "Flag" relationship system with CT:OS at some point, which would change how the game 'checks' for romantic interest.

Note on Flirt vs. Flag system

Instead of collecting relationship points (numerical) via small increases from dialogue options (and larger increases through actions) throughout the IF ['flirt system']

I'll set certain flags to trigger (true/false) if MC makes key decisions to act in a certain way that expresses various forms of interest in the ROs. ['flag system']

I think this allows readers to choose dialogue options that feel more organic/natural to their character rather than feel pressured to always choose bold/shy flirt options, while still providing different consequences of important actions/choices.

It will also mean I will no longer have to not create two identical choices (one awarding 'romantic' points, while the other awards 'friendship' points), which I feel makes no sense at all and isn't really how relationships/conversations with romantic interests work in real life.

I've already experimented with this somewhat in Merry Crisis, but yeah it'll take some time to overhaul / trial this for CT:OS.

You should see this:

Sep 11, 2020. Week 2 of classes (Sat) The weekend is here again.

You'll be presented with the choice of what to do with your weekend:

#Resting, lounging about, and catching up on sleep. #Doing my readings and classwork. #Hanging out with my hallmates.

After this choice, the choice to view the extra Sam scene will be triggered. (Note: if you're not in photography club, you'll get this choice twice, and the extra scene triggers on the second time)

On Sunday night, you and Sam manage to make time to call each other... [rest of paragraph]: #Bonus scene: Sam's POV. (Selectable if Sam_romantic > 9) #Hang up, heading to the bathroom to wash up before bed. (Proceed to next day)
