Gonna be honest sometimes writing is just not a good medium to convey certain scenes that live in my head and that is why I forever wish I could draw. Like yes I can narrate the exact timing and pattern of dancing steps I can see my OT3 doing and who hands whom off to whom at which moment and it might even be well written but reading that is inherently a way different experience than just visually SEEING them do it.

I have plenty of obstacles that keep me from drawing which are part of why I focus on writing, and I'm mostly at peace with ny limitations (and I genuinely love to write), but the specific strengths and downsides of each medium are also very real. RIP.

Anyway closest I can probably get is to just drop the songs that do it to my brain and hope you get my vision lmfao. Will probably make a codobikin playlist at some point.

This is about 10-15 years late but when smol teenage me found out House's blood type is AB+ (universal recipient) to symbolize his unhealthy selfishness and Wilson's is O- (universal donor) to symbolize his unhealthy selfLESSness and their whole dynamic as homoerotic besties is an elaborate treatise on how the only person who can stand the archetypal Taker is the archetypal Giver and vice versa I went fucking insane and also it enlightened me on why I saw so much of myself in Wilson which led me to intentionally start practicing a more moderate selflessness/seek to learn healthy forms of selfishness so my blorbos probably indirectly saved my life at some point idk

Anyway the next chapter of my codobikin fic is 4k words and counting and in my prepping stage I codified key facets of each of the characters in the axes of giving and taking but it's so much more complex and fun in a 3-way and I'm kicking my feet excitedly whenever anybody does anything bc "oohoo themes and narratives" lmao I'm a simple creature I see the curtains are blue and I immediately start to eat the curtains

In this one, Anakin left the Jedi Order after one of the major stress points during the Clone Wars. I haven't decided which one yet but major contenders include Felucia, Rako Hardeen, the debacle surrounding Fives' death, or even with Ahsoka after the Wrong Jedi arc. Obi-Wan remains and narrowly survives Order 66 similarly to canon.

Obi-Wan ends up joining the Empire with intent to be a double agent, but he hasn't really thought this through. He's lacking ties to the early faces of the eventual Rebel Alliance and mostly just wants to find Commander Cody Purge Trooper CC-2224. If you had a nickel for every post-Empire codobikin polycule plot I cooked up you'd have two nickels, etc etc.

After a while he actually does fall to the dark side, at which point Sidious begins to cram his face all over the holonet in a bid to lure Anakin back to the Core Worlds, all while still not letting Obi-Wan get anywhere near any chipped clones, let alone from the 212th or the 501st. Sidious is having the time of his life.

Except. Anakin learned more from Obi-Wan "we'll be fine as long as we stick together" Kenobi than anyone realized. He does not go in alone, and when he does attempt a rescue he manages to give the Emperor a lot more than he'd bargained for.

I've seen the codobikin now, but no obirexwalker?

Unfortunately, rexwalker is practically the only queer sw ship that, even with full shipping goggles on, I still cannot get any chemistry for in canon. I don't dislike it (I reblog rexwalker art!) and I have absolutely no reason not to ship it, just doesn't light my brain up with the shipping juices, which rules out obirexwalker for me.

The first chapter and the prewriting phase of Battlefield made me a definite codakin shipper and enjoying all three pairs that comprise the triad really makes the shipping-brain go brrrr. Each pairing has such delicious dynamic and I enjoy them each for such different reasons that the interplay between them as a polycule is just *chef's kiss*

There is a grand total of one fanfic that was able to sell me on rexwalker, but it was one of those situations where the author nailed the characterization so well and set them in such a fitting scenario that I would have shipped damn near anything they put forth. ripe with severed faith by Hornet394. It's actually rexanidala but, like rexwalker, an anidala fic already has to be very VERY good to get me to read it (counting this fic, there are only four anidala fics I've liked). Also made me so fuckin emotional over the decisions of a mouse droid so yaknow

There WAS another- my fandom white whale is a rexwalker fic that was taken down on both AO3 and FFN before I could read it but I was so sold on the concept that I can't fucking get it out of my head, it was a soulmate AU with raised as Sith!Anakin where he initially rejects Rex and the author synopsis was like "A clone was a soulmate for the slave boy who grew up on Tatooine, not for Lord Vader" and I was so fucking here for the slow burn. Actually if anybody knows this fic please let me know even if you don't have a copy of it just so I know I didn't hallucinate it. I think part of it was told in epistolary format and also Shmi was alive and wrote a letter to Rex?

Hehe good choice! I'm not sure if the fic has the feel of a 2010s video game but maybe by the end it will! (There miiiiight be some spaceship theft and reckless flying at least)

That is the next chapter of my first codobikin OT3 fic, Love Is a Battlefield, of which the 2nd half has been scrapped and redrafted at least 4 times- the numbers only count drafts moved from the wip folder to the scrap folder rather than outright trashed.

An excerpt:

"Hey, lovebirds." From behind them, Anakin cleared his throat pointedly. "We need to get moving. Using the emitter is only going to provide a few hours' relief from the inhibitor chip at most, and I don't know how many charges it has before we find out whether the power cell works properly."

Obi-Wan pocketed it as Cody gave him a last long caress along his shoulderblade.

Cody turned to Anakin as if seeing him for the first time, which in a way Obi-Wan supposed he was.

"That's a brilliant contraption you've got there, Hesperus. What you could do for my brothers…"

"Please, call me Anakin." Anakin held the wall with his right hand as he got to his feet, rising slowly to avoid dizzying himself. "The emitter is… a work in progress."

"Anakin, some would gladly die for even a few hours of this."

"Dukkra ba dukkra," said Anakin. "Point taken."

Obi-Wan hadn't yet asked Anakin what that meant, but given the situations wherein he'd heard Anakin use it before, he had a pretty good guess.

Rain and Water for Elemental writer asks, please, thank you 💙👀

Water: How did you start writing?

Overall: As a small child, I had many long periods of time alone in uninteresting surroundings with nothing to entertain me but myself. I developed the habit of telling myself stories extensively as a response, so as soon as I could write I began doing the same thing on paper.

Specifically writing fanfic: I think being 29 before I watched or read anything Star Wars at all did something to my brain that caused me to catch some kind of Star Wars disease as soon as I watched the prequels lmao. 🤣

Watching popular things I'd been avoiding was part of a wave of changes I was making to my own mind and personality, but then I kept rewatching Revenge of the Sith. And rewatching it. And rewatching it. And it was making me want to start writing again, which I hadn't done since I was like 19/20, and also turning me into an obikin shipper.

A few weeks later I read "Bird By Bird" by Anne Lamott which fundamentally altered how I write, how I plot, how I outline and how I see narratives in general, and contributed a lot to me starting to write again.

I made this blog about 2 months after that first watch of the OT and PT. By then I was already writing fanfic and my main reason for joining tumblr was to gush, follow other writers, drool over fanart, and attract a reader base for my as-then unpublished works.

Rain: Have you ever made yourself cry with your own writing?  If so, what was it?

My physical tear ducts are atrophied and of reduced functionality, but my emotions are not impacted by it and I can still get that "Man I would normally be crying rn" feeling. So far, my own writing has done that 3 times:
