         the thing about greendale,  and being a witch,  is that it’s very easy to get access to alcohol.  and it’s her birthday !  sabrina’s donned as a,  you guessed it,  classic witch get up  -  but the modern version,  if you will.  she’s not trying to be that obvious,  but halloween is the only night she truly gets to be herself,  and the witch has alcohol running through her veins,  feeling warmer and bolder than ever.  and the clock is counting down,  10 minutes to midnight and  -  sabrina turns to him,  tugging on his sleeve.   “dance with me, harvey?”

they’re  not  even  from  the  same  timeline  and  yet  she  understands  him  so  well.  sloane  just  gets  luther  in  a  way  that  no  one  else  ever  has.  “  i  do  need  to  be  the  rock.  ”  luther  admitted  after  a  brief  moment  of  silence,  “  they...  ”  there’s  a  brief  pause  as  he  struggles  to  find  the  right  words  to  explain  how  he  feels,  the  right  words  to  describe  his  famliy  while  still  remembering  that  his  connection  with  sloane  would  piss  them  all  off...  he  has  to  be  careful  and  he  knows  it.  “  i’ve  always  been  the  strong  one.  physically  and  otherwise.  apologizing  means  showing  that  i’m...  not  as  strong.  it  ruins  everything.  ”

     she figures no matter how much time has transpired nothing would change. nothing has for her even if kory isn’t anywhere near gotham. sometimes she thinks moments like these remind her of a CLOCK ticking every so slowly, down to the seconds. sometimes there’s a REMINDER of how she first started, NAIVE to the world but dick had always been her COMPASS, guiding her in unfamiliar territory. kory hopes that she does the same for him in times of need such as this one. nimble fingers take the moment to grab her drink, glad that he had taken her invitation for dinner.

        ❛ what would you do without me?  ❜ there’s a HINT of a teasing tone. kory could be AIR: fearless, light, & independent. she sets her glass down, her fingers dancing along the stem for a moment. sometimes she thinks dick has the TENDENCY to get into his own head, to pull himself into the darkness that was bruce wayne’s legacy. sometimes she thinks he needs a reminder that it is okay to be HUMAN, or a NUDGE to know that he is his own person outside of his father figure. ❛ you’re welcome, i would give you all the time in the world. don’t be a stranger. ❜ her hand reaches for his, settling on top of his, a quick SQUEEZE to remind him that he has his own network of support.

      she rescinds her touch quickly before settling on another comment of her own.  ❛ so how will you show your appreciation? ❜

    perfectly  done  eyebrows  rose  instantly,  mocha  hues  drifting  towards  harvey.  it  was  not  that  veronica  was  judging...  alright,  scratch  that.  she  was  totally  judging.  but  how  could  she  not?  she  had  always  known  sweet  harvey  kinkle  was  too  kind  and  trusting  for  his  own  good,  but  it  seemed  highly  unlikely  that  he  had  not  been  sure  about  nicholas  and  sabrina  dating  until  that  very  moment.  had  he  not  seen  the  chemistry?  the  glances?  it  was  obvious.  right?  ruby  lips  opened,  malice  lacing  her  tongue  before  she  thought  better.  instead,  the  raven-haired  heiress  playfully  nudged  him  with  her  elbow.  ❝  about  chocolate  milkshake  being  better  than  vanilla?  i  could’ve  told  you  ages  ago.  ❞  a  point  for  good  veronica.  though  she  would  definitely  not  complain  if  he  decided  to  pour  his  heart  out  about  nick  and  sabrina  anyway,  the  girl  thought  to  herself  as  she  took  a  sip  from  her  milkshake.  after  all,  she  was  only  human-ish.
