The judged tried to struggle against the ropes but it was all for not. Gerick was a seasoned adventure and knew his knots. Its was a simple matter to securely tie the sleeping Silas to a chair before she could react. The tent was illuminated by a single lamp, casting shadows blacker than the void.
He grinned and leaned in close to her, the darkness hiding his features “Oh? Make you? Fine, but I promise you, you aren’t going to like this.”
Gerick turned and approached small wooden table. His figured concealed his mysterious going-ons. He glanced back at his captive a devilish smile spreading ear to ear.
His slow approach exacerbated the tension. Finally he stepped into the light revealing a covered tray. He quietly cackled to himself.
"Now then." With one quick flourish he tore off the cloth to reveal an assortment of drinks, each with a bendy straw in them. "There are many alternatives to coffee! Just try them. I’ve got some hot Earl Gray, carbonated flavored soda, oh and this one right here is chocolate milk."
He picked up one of the drinks offered the straw to her. “C’mon they are just as good. I promise!”
