Could You Wait 'Till I've Had My Coffee?
From the series “Songs titles as inspiration” (one shot - 286 words)
Summary: Sherlock is working in a coffee shop...
Dull. Dull. Dull. Dull.
Sherlock was looking at the small crowd in the nicely located coffee shop.
I started working here to study people, to learn how to read them well. But nothing! Nothing remotely interesting! Dull. Dull. Dull. Dull.
He quickly creates a caffeinated masterpiece for a client, before falling back into his Mind Palace. Maybe I could organize my things a bit better... But his interest was captured by a man who, after he ordered an Earl Grey, went to sit in the back of the shop. I know that man... I'm certain... And the way he walks and...
He was still trying to find who he was when a regular entered the little shop. Oh! The detective! Oh God, that's it! I remember! That's him!
"Hi, white coffee, 1 sugar. Thanks." Smirking as he remembers how the man mucked up his name every bloody time, he specifies. "It's Greg. G like George, R like Robert, E like Eric and G like Gerard..."
"Okay, Graham..." Sherlock replies, pouring the coffee. He continues, murmuring, "but I must tell you something..."
"Don't have the time for your theories and elucubrations today. And the name is GREG."
"Yes, yes... but"
"Coffee. Please."
Frowning, Sherlock extends his arm to give the coffee cup to the policeman. Taking the cup with a nod, he quickly runs outside before taking a second to check what name the aloof barista wrote and stops walking at once.
Last table near the loo. Chris Richards. The murderer not the clarinettist of the LSO.
Dropping the cup in the nearest bin, Greg calls his team. I mustn't forget to go back to give him an impressive tip! Maybe I should start listening to him!
To celebrate that my lovely beta @notjustamom is currently correcting my little series “Songs titles as inspiration” I am going to publish them all on tumblr. One per day.
Inspiration for this one: Could You Wait 'Till I've Had My Coffee? / Lisa Leblanc (Listen to it, you’re in for a good time!)
Yes, Americano please.
“Cash? Card?” the redhead said in a flat tone, with a fake smile. To the naked eye, it seemed genuine. The customer flashed him the exact change for their overpriced coffee and stepped off to the side, letting the next customer place their order. This was Lawrence’s average day, working in a coffee shop by a university. Tired college students slowly crawling in, busy business workers, and families that order overpriced hot chocolate in the summer. What a drag.
He leaned forward on his elbows, and looked off to the side. Large windows acted like walls for the coffee shop, they had dark brown paneling, and were littered with small plants on the stool of the window. He thought the plants were charming, but overbearing. The windows were simple compared to the rest of the shop, where the counters were a clean white with a bubble gum pink lace painted on the edges. He rolled his eyes, the fact that the owners haven’t had the windows match with the store bothered him.
His uniform was pretty simple: a white collard shirt, with brown trousers, and...a pale pink apron with it’s store logo. With that, he continued to roll up his sleeves to his elbows, not wanting them to get in the way while he worked. Soft pop music played in the background as he continued to look out the windows.
I think I’m in love with
The way your nail glitter
The way your hair fall
The way you constantly
Bite on that coffee straw
His eyes locked on a customer as she walked in. She was also wearing a small apron, almost similar to his. Did she work with the bakery next door?

Coffee Au
Pairing: Castiel/ Crowley
His throat was beginning to feel sore, the change of the climate added with the need of cold drinks was doing a number on him, the itchiness on the back was the most bothersome, well if you could pass over the fact that everything tasted like sand. He eyes the sandwich in front of him distastefully while the soda machine keeps trying to lure him back to her, with a grunt he takes a swing of his water bottle almost warm making his stomach coil and does nothing for his throat.
“Sir, you have to eat something or else you will definitely fall sick, and believe me of all the season's summer is not the time to get sick.” His assistant reprimands him almost bursting on laughing at the annoying huff that comes from him. “Should I called Guthrie and let him know that you are not eating.” She adds turning, her hand on the door handle well aware of his answer. “ Good perhaps, I could send someone to fetch you tea, sometimes it helps.” Great another warm thing, isn't already hot outside.
“Why not let's give it a try...” She comes back with a small smirk. “And Zaid, the next tome you tried blackmailing me with telling Guthrie you will only be telling him that I had fired you… Understood.”
“Without a doubt Sir...” The smirk is of her face, as she quickly exits. A few minutes after she comes back with a cup of hot tea. He raises his eyebrow this is not his usual cup, also the tea smells minty. “Our lounge had seemed to run out of tea, however, they opened a new shop down the street...” She turns to leave.
“What is this...” He waves a small package the size of ketchup.
“Honey, Sir I mentioned your sore throat and he said it will help...”
“He?”
“The barista Sir.” She waves courteously just before exiting
“No cream...” He mutters with fake annoyance. Against all his claims the tea is indeed soft on his throat the honey not only add flavor but makes the food go down better. He has to admit that barista may know a thing or two. By the time he notices the large cup is empty and he is left with the feeling of wanting more. However, there are meetings to be dealt with.
By the end of his day, his throat is bothering him once more, he is also sure that if he complains in front of Guthrie his ass will be sent to the hospital before he says “cough drop”; his assistant is waiting patiently by the car, tablet in hand. “Sir, you out of appointments for today, would you like me to tell the chauffeur to head straight home.”
“Hmm, I think I will walk a bit...” she looks ta him puzzled, but nods. “You may go home...”
“But… Sir.” The puzzlement on her eyes is even bigger now.
“But nothing I feel like walking… Alone.” She stares at him with big brown eyes, not long before nodding, turning to give instructions to the driver. “Ohm, Zaid where is the Cafe place you mentioned?” With a raise of her eyebrow and a little smirk, she points the way.
The store is not that busy now he had jut missed the rush hour, an employee is cleaning the tables softly humming to himself. A few customers are taking advantage of the Wi-Fi are scatter around the tables. The sweet smell of vanilla surrounds him almost pulling him to the counter, there is another employee stacking their bar with cookies, muffins, and other goodies. He mutters a soft “I'll be right with you >” not even looking at him. When he is finally taking readily to take his order Crowley is already putting his name on more than one of those muffins. He looks at the smiling employee and remembers that he has no idea how to order the thing he wanted.
“I… My assistant bought me some tea this morning, but I don't really know what it was…” The kid looks at him with a confused look and then an idea seems to hit him.
“After or before twelve?”
“Before...” Crowley states not sure what the time is needed.
“Oh, okay… Give me a sec.” He quickly disappears for a more than a few minutes and Crowley is left wondering if he should just give up and leave. A few more seconds go by until finally, the employee comes back this time with another guy, that looks that either he was sleeping on the job or he is gonna throw Crowley out.
“you had a problem this morning?” The new guy asks with a serious tone.
“Not really, my assistant she brought me tea from here and I would like to order another just the same...” He distractedly looks at his watch, thinking just how much time he has.
“Well, if it was before twelve we are kinda slammed, you understand too many customers, everyone with a personal order.” His tone is softer now than before, looking back at Crowley for a clue at least.
“It was some kind of minty, really soft and she got honey to go with it, no cream.” The employee looks thoughtful for a second, while the kid makes a smirk.
“Wait…” Moody disappears again through the employees only door only to come back with another guy, and Crowley wonders how many guys are going to interview him over a cup of tea. Finally, another comes along dark hair blue eyes, same sleepy look. “Yes.” He asks softly but Crowley doubts the question was even directed to him. Crowley is about to answer when the kid beats him to it “He want one of your remedies.” Crowley raises an eyebrow, he wouldn’t call it a remedy, yes it was good but it wasn't as if it saved his life or anything. The new guy squints at him curiously, his name tag reads Castiel. “I made one for your assistant.”
Crowley simply nods before speaking “Yes, short girl, dark hair, glasses, dark suit.”
“Oh from next door, yes I remember...” He notices Castiel walking around throwing things at little teapot, the other two had simple went back to their choirs. In a few minutes, Crowley is holding a cup in his hands, that smell just as heavenly as the one before. Castiel looks at him with curiosity. Crowley takes a careful sip and even though is damn hot it the flavor overwhelms him soothing his throat and wanting more. “ I added the honey already, I hope is not that sweet.”
“No, is… It is really good indeed.”
“Good that one is in the house, I hope we see more of you.” Castiel gives him a small smile. “Now if you don't require something else, I need to go back to frosting.” With another quick smile Castiel leaves to the back, he is left in the middle of the cafe with only the kid and the other employee who seems very interested in cleaning the same table.
Crowley takes his leave only to find his assistant with the car waiting for him. The traffic is madness and he is already running almost thirty minutes late to where ever he needed to be. He hears his assistant clicking notes on her phone on the front seat, his drink is pure heaven.
“Uhm, Zaid.” She quickly stops what she is doing and turns to him. “You are no longer in charge of my tea.” He takes another sip.
“Alright Sir, may I ask why?”
“I can fetch it all by myself, thank you.” He tries to ignore the way she smiles.
“No doubt Sir.” She turns back to her phone, while he enjoys another sip.
@the-inquisitor-rio don't say is good I know it sucks *kisses*
Hi, could you do Iwaoi for the 3 sentence fic thing with a (cliche ik) coffee shop AU?
1) Give me a pairing.

2) Give me an AU setting.
cafe
3) I will write you a three-sentence fic.
Being Barista is much fun, because in Oikawa’s opinion, there is nothing better than chat with random people, making people laugh and enjoying the company of others.
His charm always works on everybody, everyone falls for his well chosen words (flirting), -except for this one guy who isn’t impressed the slightest, no matter how hard Oikawa tries whenever he visits.
Months passed and this special visitor still doesn’t seem to be interested in Oikawa, which pretty upsets him, since he really gives his best and although Oikawa really is perceiving, he never seemed to notice the light blush on Iwaizumi’s face.
give us a pair -ryuk :D
Kidlaw + Coffeeshop au: Kid the barista has been working up the courage to ask out a certain med student for weeks.
Coffee was one of the wonders of the world. Kidd was sure humanity could no longer live without the magical black drink running through their system; it has become an obsession for hundred people. Hundred people, that, of course, visited his little Starbucks on the fifth avenue, drove him mad with their strange orders and, of course, made him rich with each little cup of the expensive coffee from the famous brand.
Of all the annoying people that visited his shop, there was however one that Kidd always waited a visit from. Trafalgar, the med student came each day after class to caffeinate himself to study the killer degree. Law flirted a bit with him then with those heart-stopping smirks and fall of long lashed, he asked for the fanciest drink he had ever heard from, and after taking it, he left.
Kidd had been pissed at the boy at first, he didn’t have time with hundreds of costumers entering his shop each hour, to prepare some weird strange shit for the boy, but, after one day where he finally tried the weird shit, Trafalgar became a new coffee god for him. The weird shit, Kidd realized, was fucking awesome.
After half a year of fliting, talking, and preparing the best coffee ever for the student, Kidd found himself strangely in love with the tanned stressed boy, but the main problem was that he didn’t fucking know how to ask him out. Their flirting ritual had become something normal, a routine for them both, Kidd didn’t even know if Law was doing it on purpose waiting for him to take the final step, or if he was just messing with him.
But day after day Kidd was falling harder and harder, until one day, he wouldn’t stand it anymore.
When the boy entered the shop and smiled at him, Kidd started preparing the coffee ignoring the flirting routine. Law looked at him weird, almost pissed, as if his strange ritual was important to him, and the fact that Kidd ignored it felt almost like an insult to his person, but Kidd didn’t care; today he was too nervous to even start a conversation with the man.
So he prepared Law’s fancy coffee as usual, but today, in the cup, he added the damn question with his telephone number. Kidd could swear his hands were fucking trembling when he finally handed the cup to Trafalgar. However the boy, still looking at him pissed for the lack of flirtatious talking today, snapped the cup from his hand, stamped the money on the desk, and turned away leaving the coffee shop and a trembling Kidd in the counter.
Kidd almost felt deceived by the lack of response. He had been expected Law to read the message on the cup and either, laugh at him or blush furiously. He hadn’t expected well, nothing. Mumbling some curses under his breath and starting to think of a new way to ask the boy out, Kidd turned to answer a new order from some old woman.
A sudden bang made the whole shop sake as the door was slammed against the wall with more force than necessary. Turning surprised, Kidd barely had time to prepare to grab Trafalgar who stomped his way, and just jumped at his arm griping the burning cup of coffee between his longs fingers.
“Fucking finally!” the boy said before kissing him passionately in front of Kidd’s coffee obsessed costumers.
